Went to Morocco last week with my older bro and a few mates. It was pretty fuckin' cool. Here are the photos ...

Agadir-Almassira airport:

We decided to break away from the tour guide and hire our own car and hit the road for 7 days. This is on our way to Tafraoute and Tiznit (silver mining area) through the mountain route...

We stayed in Marrakech for two days and then hit the road again on our way to Essaouria... full speed

On our way back to our main hotel in Agadir we stumble across some goats up a tree. As you do





Throughout the 3 hour drive back to Agadir there was the Atlantic ocean on one side and beautiful hills on the other...


Back in Agadir in the evening, this is on top of the Kasbah. (the hill with the arabic writing on it)






Before our final day we hit the Quads!

I know :rotfl:

But the really cool thing is that it's a VERY safe environment pretty much throughout most of the north african and middle-eastern regions (with the exception of a few because of political madness).

Old people, families, women and children are out at night walking around and enjoying the city and beach. You don't get that in most parts of the world. You are free to do what you want, but if you do something bad like mug someone or steal something, basically you are fucked. The punishments are severe thats why no one fucks around in those parts of the world.

We didn't go to Casablanca because everyone who's been there say's it's nothing special. The only reason people visit Casablanca is to see the grand mosque or because of the famous movie based on the city.

Essaouria was pretty special. Jimi Hendrix lived there for a while and many grunge and rock bands spend time there because of the beautiful beach and aqua breeze.

But if you go to Morocco you HAVE to visit the old city in Marrakech, otherwise theres no point in visiting Morocco

We went for 7 days and flew with some crappy airline called MyTravel, and the company that organized our Hotel and coach etc was Panorama (they were brilliant).

Panorama organize group trips to various parts of Morocco, but in my opinion the best and most adventurous way to see the country is to hire a car and go on a road trip - you'll have more fun and end up discovering lots of different things which you wouldn't if you went with a tour guide. You also have a lot more freedom to do what you want. That's what we did

We're planning a trip to Goa or Malaysia for December

Yeah I love driving holidays too. Went LA, Vegas, and San Diego by road a few years back. Fantastic holiday. Going to Italy later this year by road too in a convoy of 15 cars. Should be ace!
