KARACHI (Reuters) - A suicide attacker detonated a powerful bomb in a crowded Shi'ite mosque in the business district of the Pakistani city of Karachi Friday, killing at least 15 people and wounding more than 125, police said.
It was just the latest attack on a Shi'ite mosque in Pakistan, which has been racked for decades by violence between the minority Islamic sect and militants in the Sunni majority.
Angry Shi'ites went on a rampage in central Karachi, pelting cars and shops with stones and setting fire to a state-run petrol station, several vehicles, a building and a police post near the mausoleum of Pakistan's founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

rreal the conflict between shiites and the sunniz has been in affect for a very long time, It's really hard for them to compromise because both of them think they are following the right path, and that is what Allah(swt) mentioned too, that all the sects will think they are the right ones, but only one from all those sects will be the ones following the true Islam.

P.S. there is no need to start anything, everyone knows this has been happening in karachi, lahore wherever for a long long time. It's just the extremists who start crap, other than that the ordinary people, i.e. shiites and sunnis are living their lives side by side. My best friend was a shiite and i had no problem with that, i respected her beliefs and she respected mine. I know alot of people who are shiites, family friends, etc. we have no problem, we're just living our lives peacefully.

no offense but shiites seem physco to me, these barbaric activies are your rituals, ever more terrifying that it involves young kids ....plus if you claim you all believe in one god...follow the same role model "mohammed" why is it offending you so much???

well that's their beliefs, if they are ok with it then why should we bother??

that is why muslims can't be united because they bring their differences in their beliefs. We are supposed to believe in one God, and Muhammad(saw) as His(Swt)'s messenger, but people have free will you know, they can choose whatever they want to believe in

may i ask why ahmadis are being picked on........for some weird reasons they dont seem to get enough respect 4m fellow muslims.....is it because they are minority, thus their distinctive biliefs wont b tolerated.....some even referred to'em as devil's path to misguide muslims.....eventhough dispute between shiite and sunnis is far more furious, ahmadis face much more criticism

perhaps you misunderstood me.......i never said that i dont criticize or only ahmadis are being picked on......m simply questioning why ahmadis happened to be the prime choice (out of curiousity)coz they are minority?????, n again m not against criticism since i dont belong to any those sectors. but i dont remember saying shiite beliefs are wrong, that happened be your very own judgement. Afterall you all believe in the same god, thus i specifically mentioned their rituals vich i found quite violant and barbaric.
I wonder why you accused me of being hypocrite, if I have to come to a decision eventuallly, as it says in yr quran only 1 will make it to heaven......so now that sunnis and shiites have been established as 2 major sectors, muslims pretty much narrowed it down to 2 sectors....then why not compromise that was my little advise.....n comparing sunnis n shittes head to head i'd say sunnis seem more civilized, otherthen that a huge majority follow sunnah so logically its more realible and realistic faith for most muslims

its so depressing that no muslim bothered over recent slaughter of shiites....an incident which killed 14 shiites muslims and wounded more than 200......but surely furious over death of 40 iraqis vich was a mistake......shame on u ppl and yr prejudiced views
