Murderer in future spouse's family

My friend and I have been arguing about this for a good while now.

She says that if a prospective spouse has a murderer in their family, they aren't good enough to marry. According to her, that will only blacken your name and drag you down in "society".

What do you think? What would you do?

It depends. If it's a parent of a future spouse, then I might worry because what if some of that person's homicidal behavior rubbed off onto their offspring. If it's a cousin, or sibling, or aunt or uncle, or anything beyond that, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

It really depends. I should've been more specific. If the person's parents was a SERIAL killer/rapist/abuser, then I would be really worried because it's likely that some of that psychotic behavior passed onto the kids.

if ur other half is close to the murderer then they may pick up bad habbits, like how parents rub of on there kids.

Meh.. I don't see the problem so long as the "offender" isn't a parent or sibling.

Well if i love the person, i could care less about their family. Im not marrying the person because of their family, and its not their family that im going to be spending most of my time with. Why would i care?
