some of us sit here n pick on n make fun of fobs .. curious? charity starts from home . so y don't we start picking on n make fun of our parents first n then start being ignorant n start making fun of FOBS .. if not you .. ur parents were fob once or if not then i guess your grandparents NOW LETS HUG IT OUT BITCH

Although I don't like saying it, alotta desi's are narrow minded when it comes to fobs. I don't agree with it, at uni my friends barely talk to fobs & some girls are like 'ew he looked at me perv', but if some bad boy wannabee looks at them, most would probably giggle & be like 'oh he looked . Like wtf?!? Where by I’ve noticed people from back home are more into their studies, and when you do make an effort in saying hi & stuff, they acknowledge you time & time again without being stuck up. In other words I feel a sense of appreciation from our homies =) I don’t agree with them being categorized after all like you’ve said either our parents/grandparents were in the same boat. You can be born in a different country & different society but home will always be home & the roots, which no one can un-plug from you. It’s a matter of how strongly one believes I guess in core history I guess. Some take it in one ear & out the other, where by others keep it within their hearts. Damn this post was a little to emo

Not that i am superman but there isnt a single local desi where i study and that makes me sad and sader when people look at us with those eyes.

I probably would be considered as one, but like the steriotype of a fob is like hairy, smelly, horrible accent etc. Well that's not me, and it's wrong for someone to like just judge the person or ignore the person for being a fob. Although like a lot of fobs who are not from well educated families act dumb and paindoo as heck and that pisses me off. It's not only desi fobs its like mexican ones too. The desi fobs i've seen in chicago(the guys) the way they hit on the girls around them is like they own every chick who walks by, or just really disrespectfull. There are some good nice ones too who don't make fools out of their selves and make their country look bad. I had a lot of other fobby friends too(the ones with obvious accents and ones who are like freshly off the boat and just came here like a year or two ago. They are lots of cool ones and it's fun to talk to them about things back home. My cousins who live there too. They are like so awesome.

So yeh it's wrong to just judge a person because he/she hasn't been in the states for that long and isn't all westernized. That doesn't make the person not funny, not "cool" or w/e. There are some annoying ones and i have examples but you can't judge a whole group from that. That's like saying anyone who's not from the states is a perv, or loser or w/e.

Nothing wrong with them if they adapt and they know how to behave in public. The most annoying thing is hearing them speak in Hindi/Urdu like it was an international call at 8 am in the morning on the train/in the Library!/in the Computer Labs. Fucking annoying.

One reason being is that they are totally oblivious with culture, where as old people and elders are excused because they are living in the past.
Generally, I laugh at fobs simply because they are going through a process of self-realisation, and slowly but surely, they'll become well aware of their cultural and social incompetance. It usually isn't their fault, but yeah, its the only way they'll learn that something is deeply wrong with their behaviour in context of their new surroundings.
