Philosophically, aesthetics dictates the following:
In an abstract universe where absolutes are possible you can have either absolute black and absolute whites, so black or white.

However, in the physical universe, you can't have absolutes, so the resulting colour will always be a product of the two.

Think about it this way, you have two vectors. The unit vectors are b and w, respectively.
In a quantum physical universe, you can't have absolute values, so the component scales are subject to time.

R = w(t) * w + b(t) * b

0 < |R| < 1
0 < w(t) < 1
0 < b(t) < 1

hence b(t) and w(t) will collectively form |r| in the magnitude sqrt(b^2(t) + w^2(t)) together.

w(t) and b(t) CANNOT be 0 or 1.
So they'll never be a situation where b or w will have a 0 or a 1.


So the proof is correct in this instance.
