persuasive speech

i have to make a persuasive speech. it can be on any topic besides abortion & the death penalty. but i'm going to need qualified expert testimony soo nothing too ridiculous. any ideas??

i was thinking of doing something along the lines of "obesity is not a problem in America" (as in it's not something the government should be expected to deal with)...but i'm not sure that's a good idea...

umm if you wanna focus on some of the newer topics of discussion..you could do it on whether smoking in public places should be banned everywhere..or umm idk..theres so much to pick from

yeah i was thinking of doing that too, half the people in my class probably don't even know what it is, but i'm not sure where my stand on that is. i also did a speech on it a few years ago, and i kinda wanna do something new. but it's my backup.

government is always linked in some way in everything..

obesity is a problem in america..because people who are obese tend to have health problems.. and those who cant afford to take care of their health problems get on medicaid/medicaid.. which provided by the govt.

i wrote a 5 page paper on it.. a lot of cities are getting tough on the smoking ban..
