Ass gasket/Paper toilet seat cover-Height of illogical behavior?

I'm pretty sure we all do this in public bathrooms, even if the seat looks free of any mysterious liquids or other semi solids.

It's been shown that there's more bacteria/pathogens on the faucet handle and the bathroom door handle than the toilet seat and there have been no reported incidents of someone getting sick due to sitting on a toilet seat.

Heck, we often handle money (which is filthy) and eat right after.

Why is it that we need a micrometer thickness of toilet paper to provide so much psychological comfort for parts of the body (Back of the thigh, part of the ass) that we really don't use for eating etc.

Why am I going crazy about this?

Now that you mention it, the resemblance is uncanny.

Futurama is coming back soon. I was sorry to see it go in the first place.
