desi bedtime stories...????
anyone recall any bedtime stories their parents told them that were desi? or any desi fairy tales...is there a site that could help me out?
i just remember two stories both freaked me out. one story of a family that was poor and had like 8 daughter and one by one would send a daughter to the desert to die but each girl magically stumbled on a castle hbo showed the story of two birds named podini or something they said it's a pakistani story but it seemed north indian by the kings n stuff one "true story" of star crossed lovers who tried to escape by boat but were shot up with a buncha arrows (i think aftab was letting me know the family rules early on lol) so if anyone could help me out or know of other true stories of love and what not i'm interested in reading about that stuff right now THANKS! |
