Kama Sutra

This thread isn't meant to be sexually explicit. Just thought I'd get that out there first. So lately I've been reading different translations of the Kama Sutra, Perfumed Garden and Ananga Ranga. These books have existed for centuries; however the sexual and romantic practices in my opinion were ahead of their time, but they don't seem to be widely appreciated today. If anything I think in today's societies the act sex has been degraded and not looked upon with "awe" and respect any more. Kama Sutra was used during a time in desi culture when everything from socializing, eating, dressing and making love was even considered an art. My question is, what do you think of the Kama Sutra? Do you consider it a work of art? Can it be incorporated into modern day relationships? Do you think that in modern times people's outlook on sex has regressed and is more about immediate sexual gratification rather than learning to appreciate the sacred act of sex and bring pleasure to both partners? Lastly, do you think it is a vital tool for married couples to have?

much of the ancient indian wisdom was well beyond its time, containing many valubale eternal truths.

india and much of the world is in a dark age of spiritual wisdom.

the vedas and the kamasutra alike were very practical/wise works of india.

Fact: Indians knew of the missionary position long before Europeans.

I think you actually read the whole thing

but yeah I think anyone can use it. I wanted people's opinions on what the idea of sex in the Kama Sutra and how we view it today.

I think most of the people posting here are the ones who see sex as an act that provides immediate gratification....and that's all that they see it as.
