How in the hell did presidential income increase from around $200k per year to above $700k in less than 8 years?? Talk about a nice raise.

the rest is from personal investments and such......the guy is a millionaire and a business owner

Did y'all even read this???

$400000 has always been the Presidential salary, like it mentions in the article. This guy is not just making money being President. This includes his tax returns and other business deals.

ah shit, my mistake...i thought salary was $200k under clinton. i didn't think 8 yrs was enough to double salary. anyway, my mistake.

if we assume he doesn't spend a dime on anything the whole year, an after-tax deposits total of roughly $250k is peanuts for the job he holds.

of course, he does actually have personal expenses that shave that figure...so the net on his account would be less than $250k.

well if u look at it, a laywer makes 500 g's a year so, a president runin the whole country shoud defnietly make more then that, even if it is dumb ass bush, i think he deserves 1 - 2 mil

sports salaries are way too high. I don't believe that the President's is too low in an absolute sense.

just becoz hes the president doesnt mean that he shud be earning in millions.. no way.. thats a million dollars of tax payers money.. pple are paying taxes not becoz the president gets a million dollars every year.. but for a million of other waayyy more important reasons..

but the best part of these salaries is that they are for life, bush will keep getting 400k/year till he dies

I dont know how American system is, but every presidental earns that salary until they die???

you have to realize that the president has massive responsibilites, far above those of a surgeon. btw, some surgeons earn twice that amount easy in say, orthopedic, vascular, neuro or cardio surgery or just practicing in a group.

But yes, you do essentially have to be an aristocrat in order to become president.
