guys, call me dumb or watever, but i had been searching for the video of this song by harbhajan Mann for almsot 3 years, song about the great Mirza, who is the heart of Punjabi folklore and romanticism to this day.
so enjoy, the first time u play it, it will buffer a lot, but second time it will be continuous (u probably need dsl or sumthing though)

Sikhism is a relatively new religion, there have been muslim punjabis for almost a 1000 years if i am right, even today, most punjabis and jatts are muslim, west punjab> east punjab

Mirza Sahiba

A famous romance legend from the Sandal Bar region of the land of five rivers Punjab.

Mirza Khan was the son of Wanjhal Khan the tribal leader of famous Kharal tribe in the town Danabad Jaranwala area of Faisalabad. Sahiba was the daughter of Mahni the Chief of Khewa a town in Sial Territory in Jhang District.

Mahni was the maternal uncle of Mirza Khan. He was sent there to study essential relegious studies, where both them fell in love. Brothers of Sahiba hesitated against this relationship a hatched a conspiracy and secretly made a tie with Chadhars that they will marry Sahiba with a son of Chadhars if they in return promise assistance to them against Kharral Brothers. Now though Chadhars initially hesitated, being attracted Sahiba's beauty, the Son of Chadhars finally gave the word of assistance. Sials had Sahiba forcebly locked in their house and secretly had her engaged with the Son of Chadhars, named Tahar Chadhars. Chadhars were outnumbered and well built also have had skirmshes with Kharals in past.

Meanwhile, Mirza was unaware of what was going on at Sial. While he was waiting for Sahiba one day, Sahiba in the meantime was not allowed to leave her house. The Sials had a servant working in their home by the name of Kammu Brahmin. Kammu was aware and felt sad for Sahiba's situation on the way she was being forced to marry Tahar Chandarh, against her own wishes. Sahiba requested Kammu Brahmin to somehow inform Mirza about this conspiracy. Kammu Brahmin delivers the message to Mirza. The contemporary commentator on Mirza Jatt.

Now Mirza reaches Sial on his Bakki. He finds Sial Brothers busy in preparation of their sister's upcoming wedding. He chalks out a plan to somehow get Sahiba out and elope with her to Danabad.

He reaches there takes the Sahiba out sitting her in front of his famous horse Bakki. When reaching at a certain place Mirza feels that he is safe now he leaves the horse and sits under a Jand tree to take some rest. The sleep catches him.

Sahiba was a virtuous and a beautiful soul who did not desire any bloodshed to mar the one she loved. She did not want her hands drenched in blood instead of henna. She thinks Mirza cannot miss his target, and if he strikes, her brothers would surely die. Before waking up Mirza, Sahiban puts away his quiver on the tree. She presumes on seeing her, her brothers would feel sorry and forgive Mirza and take him in their arms. But the brothers alongwith Chadhars attack Mirza and kill him. Sahiban takes a sword and slaughters herself and thus bids farewell to this world.

Kharals attack Khewa Mahni to take the corpse of Mirza and then bury it at Danabad. There are a series of battles between Kharals with Sials and their allies Chadhars.

the only thin that i find odd, is when sikhs say muslim punjabis or pakistani are not really punjabis, yet in sooo many of their songs, they are singing about heer ranjha, mirza sahiba, saasi punnu, and they are all muslims

the Sikhs who say muslims are not real punjabis or shit like that are plain dumb

as i said, there were muslim jatts and muslim punjabis before Sikhism even existed

about us Sikhs singing about heer ranjha or mirza, these are Punjabi Jatt romanticists, Jatt icons, they belong as much to us as they do to the muslim punjabis

i know they are punjabi iicons, i was just mentioning how ironic it is that soem sikhs dont recognize west punabis yet they sing about muslim punjabis thats all
