But, a terrible sadness lurked deep inside “K’s” warm heart, unseen by even the intuition of a mother, as the flood of past exploits crept into the tiniest of potholes through the Troy-esque wall of strength she had built around her.

So life passes and the opportunist’s lead and the content wallow regarding what could have been, “K” was smart and knew she was the former. By the direction of fate a chance had popped up to visit France with some of her college friends, she understood for her to advance as a person, she could no longer be stationary emotionally so she jumped at the idea, consumed with idealistic thoughts of what will be with “M”.

The date and time was set, and all that was required was to overcome the goliath task of having the impudence to defy her fear of flying for it was the sole reason a tinge of uncertainty would creep into her train of thought whenever she allowed herself the pleasure of fantasising. Many things had worried her in the past but non-as intimidating at the thought of a roaring jet, soaring the sky with fate the catalyst for her destiny. She decided though, that without “M” her existence would be futile, regardless of the magnitude of her achievements.

So came the day when the students would take to the air, and along with it came “K’s” fear. She glanced around the airport, occupying herself with factual thoughts regarding the influx of small novelty stores the airport had acquired in recent months. Then came the mechanical voice, sending spine-tingling chills through her body, a dictator of the highest order commanding her to board her plane. She suddenly ceased to move as her friends gave her the once-over, “K” you ok darling? Remarked “T” knowing full well what was travelling through “K’s” mind. K replied in a defeated voice, “No” much to the sorrow of her fellow travellers, a warm hug ensued and with it came “T’s” words of wonder…

”Fate has taken me to many places, but non-greater than this, for I am by your side, no touch can rival the sensual feel of your fingers, no voice can bring such comfort as the harmony of your symphonies, you are the closest thing I have and I truly feel, you make life fruitful, yours M”

It was the resounding echo of “M’s” own words…..

I sit here today and write this in Monaco France, painting a picture of Khushi and Mehul, frolicking on the beach, Khushi’s smile is as large as ever and her zest for life enhanced, my conclusion :- happiness stems from conquering that which you fear the most.
