You are kind of right about the Raptors being the laughing stock of NBA, but that will change in couple of seasons....
As for the playoffs, you got to realize that the Raptors play in the Least conference, not west...so it is possible for the Raptors (or any other team in the east) to make it to the playoffs.

You got to realize that VC trade value was really low...Everybody in the league knew that VC wanted to get traded. That's why the Raptors couldn't get a good deal at all....But at least the Raptors got couple first round draft picks though.

CV also plays C & SF position as well. Raptors really needed a guy who can rebound the ball well and score a lot of points...Besides, Donyell Marshall left the Raptors...So the Raptors were looking for a player who can take over Marshall's role.

LOL, you have got to be kidding me.
Maybe most unsettling of all is the underrated level of competition in the East.
New Jersey, last season's No. 8 seed, suddenly has a core (Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson and Shareef Abdur-Rahim) that should put the Nets in the top four alongside Detroit, Miami and Indiana.
Washington rebounded from the loss of Larry Hughes by striking deals to acquire Caron Butler and Antonio Daniels, which figures to keep the Wiz in the top eight, and Chicago still has a youthful core to envy, provided the Bulls hang onto Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry.
With Philadelphia bringing everyone back and hiring a coach (Maurice Cheeks) adored by Iverson, Boston looks like the only '04-05 playoff qualifier that could slide, and that's only because the Celtics are going young.
Cleveland and Milwaukee, meanwhile, are two non-playoff teams that have strengthened significantly through free agency.

cuz they still have all the players and they got somebody from argentina who is believed 2 b 2nd ginobili.
ginobili is improving his game by a lot. posssibly next year's mvp. maybe an exaggration but could happen.
duncan=solid as always and a great unselfish leader who doesnt wanna b the center of the attention.

I disagree...
The pacers are a good team....
Pacers starting line up
PG - Jamaal Tinsley
SG - S.Jackson
SF - Artest
PF - Jermaine O'Neal
C - Foster (very underrated rebounder)
This team is really good...but loss of Reggie is going to hurt this team a little though.

Of course, everybody better not sleep on Golden State.
As long Baron Davis doesn't get hurt during the season, the Warriors can make some noise in the West for sure. I think Golden State Warriors will be this season version of the last season's Phoenix Suns team.

SPORTS REPORTER
Rob Babcock has identified a free agent he wants but it appears he won't get him.
The Raptors general manager, according to several NBA sources, has made an offer to sign Chicago's restricted free agent point guard Chris Duhon, but the Bulls seem ready to match it.
Babcock would not comment on the offer last night.
However, Bulls general manager John Paxson said Chicago would likely keep the 24-year-old, which they can do under NBA free-agency rules as long as they match Toronto's offer within seven days.
There were no specifics available but given Toronto's obligations, it's likely to have been less than $2.5 million (all figures U.S.) to start. The Bulls had offered him about $2 million in their original negotiations, according to published reports.
Duhon is coming off a solid rookie season in which he started 73 of 82 regular-season games and five of six playoff games. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder averaged 5.9 points and 4.9 assists as a rookie with Chicago.
That Babcock is actively pursuing a promising young point guard sends mixed signals about the long-term future of Rafer Alston.
Toronto signed Jose Calderon to a three-year deal last week and the addition of the young Duhon, if they do get him, would give the Raptors two point guards who are younger and less volatile than Alston.

alright 7th overall, same difference...i have seen him play, i watch ncaa alot. he was good at uconn but scouts arent stupid, and there isnt a single nba expert who can validate that pick at that spot for the raps, they werent addressin their needs. who knows, he may be amazin, but you dont pick someone for a position you got filled (bosh)...
as far as him bein picked 10th, thas mere speculation. they said granger would go in top 7, did he? no.
i dont rememba what dr j was applyin for, but i thought it was coach, could be wrong. whatever the case, you dont hire someone without gettin input from your superstar player. hahaha yea isiah fucked up the raps, i was bein sarcastic, guess you didnt notice.
raps jus need to rebuild now and save money for big signings maybe next summer. no one wants to come north, wonder why?

Huh? CV is known for rebouding the ball well and scoring....If you actually watch any Raptor games, then you will realize that the Raptors need more rebounders and scorers (since donyell left T.O.)...So don't tell me CV doesn't address the needs for the Raptors....Also if you know anything about CV, you will know that he plays SF and C position as well....Last of all, CV will fill in Marshall role on this Raptor team now.
as far as him bein picked 10th, thas mere speculation. they said granger would go in top 7, did he? no.
Granger didn't get picked 7 because of his knee problems....There was no way the Raptors are going to pick a potential injury prone player like Granger....In fact, a lot of teams didn't choose Granger as well....I wonder why?
i dont rememba what dr j was applyin for, but i thought it was coach, could be wrong. whatever the case, you dont hire someone without gettin input from your superstar player. hahaha yea isiah fucked up the raps, i was bein sarcastic, guess you didnt notice.
DR.J was applying for the GM position...but anyway, VC made a clear that he wanted DR.J, but DR.J didn't have any experience of being GM in the NBA...So obiously the Raptors didn't choose Dr.J to be the GM for them...So are you tellin' me that the Raptors should let VC do whatever he wants to do? Of course not.....VC needs to learn to let other people do their jobs instead of bitchin' about what he wants.
raps jus need to rebuild now and save money for big signings maybe next summer.
That's what the Raptors are doing right now....

But you got to remember that it is all about the money....When the Raptors finally get some cap space, don't be surprised if players show interest.....

i would like to say only this ...
Pg- Mike Bibby
Sg- Bonzi Wells
Sf- Peja Stojakavic
Pf- Shareef-AbdurRaheem
C-Brad Miller ... do i hear a championship >
HAHAHAHA....Why are you talking about the Queens on this Raptors thread for? The Queens will choke again (like always) when comes to the playoffs. Plus Shareef and Bonzi are nothing but losers...

Granger didn't get picked 7 because of his knee problems....There was no way the Raptors are going to pick a potential injury prone player like Granger....In fact, a lot of teams didn't choose Granger as well....I wonder why?
DR.J was applying for the GM position...but anyway, VC made a clear that he wanted DR.J, but DR.J didn't have any experience of being GM in the NBA...So obiously the Raptors didn't choose Dr.J to be the GM for them...So are you tellin' me that the Raptors should let VC do whatever he wants to do? Of course not.....VC needs to learn to let other people do their jobs instead of bitchin' about what he wants.
That's what the Raptors are doing right now....

so there in the rebuilding stage again n again n again ever since that Vince carter shot against the Sixers a few season ago that would have taken them to the finals they been horrific. they can't make good pics or good trades, that teams a jk. For some reason watching them last season they liked to make hugh comebacks after getting blown out in the first half ill give them that they have some character. Now there tyring to build around CB4 like thats gonna help. Ja-Rose is not bad bad then lsoing Vince to practcally nothing, this teams in totaly shambles. AlonZo doesn't even wanna play in t.dot he knows the team bits .
Expect them ta play .500 this season if that. ITs funny how Rod Black and Heanny get all hyped after they win a couple of games on TSN like they won the championship queers. hahaha

"Jerome Williams is expected to announce his retirement today. Williams will meet this morning with Knicks president Isiah Thomas, who will offer him a job as part-time scout, part-time community relations executive and part-time broadcaster for MSG Network." - NY Post
That is sad....I had a lot of respect for JYD...

"The Toronto Raptors announced Monday they have designated centre Alonzo Mourning for the amnesty provision under the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement."

So this means that ZO contract isn't part of the Raptors salary cap anymore...Which is great news.

The Craptors keep getting better. Rob Babcocksucker by his own admission says we will even less games than last year. At least he isnt lying.

By the way someone in this thread defended Charlie Villenueva. My friend in the states watched his team very closely all year - esp. since he attended the same colllege (connecticuit). Charlie is a good role player. He's not a star by no means. What he is not good in is the high uptempo transitional game our coach likes play, charlie will not respond to our coach yelling at him to move his ass.
Our scouts suck. Nothing against Bosh, he will be a really good player and if he put on pounds - will be excellent - but I hope our fans realize we could have drafted Dwayne Wade. I know we would have been log jammed in the guard position but really we could have done this to get a star player.
