ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President & General Manager Larry Pleau announced the club has traded defenceman Chris Pronger to the Edmonton Oilers for defencemen Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka.
"Eric Brewer has been a premier defenseman in the National Hockey League for the past several seasons and we are very excited about the talents he brings to the Blues," said Pleau. "We are also adding two skilled younger defensemen who are clearly up-and-coming players at this level. St Louis got the better of it. Brewer is younger and much cheaper and gives basically the same defensive skill that Pronger gives. Pronger only owns Brewer when it comes to offensive.

Good move by St Louis, unloading a shitload of $$ for someone that can handle Prongers role.

And also Amonte is gone to Flames, shit they are really serious about making some sort of push again although Amonte licks nuts now.

edit: It means Vancouver's chances are better than ever to get Niedermayer since Malik is gone and Calgary signed Amonte and McCarty.

I dislike Cloutier, and dislike Cujo. I would rather go right into developing Alex Auld, he has the skillset and stature to be a goalie with his big frame and his technique which is used by all goalies now, he has that Patrick Roy size and look when he is on knee's making himself big.

My choice would be Alex Auld honestly but going for Nikolai Khabibulin for 1 season wouldnt hurt either :D

But yea for sure, Alex Auld up front, Cloutier isnt a top goalie, he is just made to look like one because Vancouver over the last few years have turned into the St. Louis and Philidelphia's.
