Several people have been injured after explosions on the Underground network and a double-decker bus in London.

A police spokesman said there were "quite a large number of casualties" at Aldgate Tube Station.

And Scotland Yard confirmed one of several reports of explosions on buses in the city - in Tavistock Place - but said the cause was not yet known.

UK Home Secretary Charles Clarke said several explosions in central London had caused "terrible injuries".

"The health services are in support to deal with the terrible injuries that there have been," Clarke told reporters outside Downing Street.

Number 10 said it was "still unsure" whether the explosions were a terrorist attack and although casualties were reported, no further details were yet available.

Im stuck at work just a few buildings away from aldgate east and round the corner from liverpool street, goddam police wont tell us shit and wont let anyone out of the building yet and they have cordened off nearly all the buildings around us so everyone is just stuck inside the buildongs and offices, thats not really a good idea considering if any other explosions were to go off , and all we can do is watch the tv, theres like 30 of us round one small tv, been trying to get hold of all my freinds as a lot of them work up central london and always use either aldgate east or liverpool street,

this sort of behaviour is innacceptable....whatever their motive may have been-the result was that innocent victims had died. those behind the attacks have no feelings or humanity...this sort of behaviour is not islamic infact it is totally barbaric...against the whole essence of islam and its fundamental teachings.
can i also say that this was not an attack on islamic 'extremists' to non muslims...in fact it was an attack which spared no-one...of any colour, creed or age...as is especially the case in one of the capital and most cosmopolitan cities of the world.

Makes u think, where is all the intelligence now ? and how on earth did they not be able to prevent something like this.....

Here's my view, now please don't take offence. Something like this should have been expected with Britain being the second biggest player in the war on terror. You guys were involved in an illegal invasion of Iraq, which the UN did not authorize. Canada on the other hand, chose not to jump on America's bandwagon, and for that I feel much safer. What reason do terrorists have to attack us? We pose no threat.

But Britain should have known what they were getting into, now they're too involved. Same with Spain, they have troops fighting the war on terror and Al Queda blew up that train in Madrid.
