Gerrard is like a kid, and he is very indecisive. Of course Liverpool fans wanted him to stay, but £40m is a lot for ANY player, which ould have softened the blow. Last summer he changed his mind at the last minute, and this one has been more dramatic. Benitez and Parry probably bought him a teddy bear, and gave him a hug yesterday, making him change his mind.

SFX his agents are complete wankers, and have made him believe the club didn't want him to stay. He's so easily manipulated.

He's said his new contract has no clauses in it, which would allow a similar situation to occur, and promised this wouldn't again next summer, or the one after that. Thats all good, but I just don't believe a word footballers say anymore.

nope i just thought good luck to him .. only person that i was annoyed with when they left was steve mcmanaman some 6 years ago

are liverpool fans gonna be happy that gerrard is staying?? if he has a shit game next season, all the fans and pundits are gonna say sum shit about him being disillusioned with the club/his heart is not at the club, which would then start all the speculation again. best thing for liverpool fc would be to sell that greedy, confused twat, and spend the cash on bringng in some more decent players
