Your Top 10 - Action Flicks

Likely the most entertaining film genre I've ever come across, nothing utilizes your home theater better than the truly awesome DTS soundtrack of a beefy Jerry Bruckhimer produced explosion-fest, a genre that truly came into fruition during the early 90s. There have been some timeless movies in this category, what are some of your favorite?

My Top 10

1. The Rock - Spectacular movie, pretty much, the definition of an action flick.

2. Face/Off - Beautifully directed, every action sequence was like a waltz, except with Berettas.

3. The Die Hard Trilogy - Yippee Kiya Mutherfucker

4. Heat - Incredible cast, incredible story

5. Terminator 2 : Judgement Day - The absolute height of Ahnuld's career

6. Dirty Harry - Absolutely timeless

7. The French Connection - The infamous car chase scene, though I'd say that Ronin's car chase scene takes a very close 2nd.

8. Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy - I grew up on this shit, if ya didn't like these movies you're a jerk, honestly.

9. Bad Boys - Will Smith and Martin Lawerence? Ya can't put two brothers with that much chemistry on a giant screen and expect it to fail.

10. Rambo - I've never seen so much senseless killing on screen in my life, but it was the 1st of it's kind, so it deserves a place on my list.

There are many honorable mentions, but a few that come to mind...

Under Siege, Con Air, all four Lethal Weapons, The James Bond series, Passenger 57 (the movie that made Wesley Snipes a superstar and honored him with the official title of 'blackest ***** on the planet'), Air Force One... and that's all I can think of right now.

Die Hard (part one only) jus a defining Action movie

Terminator 1 & 2... they gotta go together

Aliens (part two that is).. this should be on every list

Con Air ..i like the Rock too... but i Love the humour in Con-Air...

Robocop... CLASSIC

Leon... OMG.. What an amazing movie... how many other action movies make u wanna fuckin cry at the end... one of the all time great films... watch the uncut international version... extra 24mins....

Kill Bill...

I only chose western movies.. No Hong Kong... thats a whole other list...

In no particular order:

Terminator 2 - all time classic and definitely Ahnold's best

Indiana Jones (all three) - you know you're having fun when you're smiling ridiculously all the way through a movie

Long Kiss Goodnight - severly underrated action flick

Equilibrium - with such a low budget, the action scenes created here were as cool as the Matrix's. And I have a man-crush on Christian Bale

The Rock - shmashing good time. Yesh.

The Matrix - not necessarily a run of the mill action movie but its action scenes were awesome enough to earn a place on this list

X-Men 2 - although I think Batman Begins is probably the best comic book movie out there, the action scenes in X-Men 2 are superior

Die Hard - the first is by far the best with some great set pieces

tie between Golden Eye and Die Another Day - the best of the latest Bonds in my opinion

Bloodsport - one of Van Damme's earliest and quite possibly best.

ooooh, i forgot The One. i loved that movie. pretty basic story and plot line, but the action was krazy. wats better than 1 Jet Li?? 2!! :p

It's an all around great film. Aestically brillant! I just love the way it's shot, how the story is told(sort of as if it were a video game), the idea of fate, time, and luck just blew my mind.I guess it was taken from the chaos theory. It's just incredible. It's my favorite film! :)
