hey bro,
just wanna give my two cents, if you care to listen,
believing than an amulet or bracelet in can protect you can go into the territory of shirk,
from the lectures ive heard and papers ive read its the understanding given to me. just know that Allah can protect you and you should just pray to Allah and rely on Allah for protection.
btw i mean no offense of anything by this,

thanks for you comment bro. i pray and ask allah for forgiveness and protection everyday. however, i'm just a bit superstitious, i've wore one of these wrist bands/bracelets for most of life (until i gave it to somebody) and masallah, nothing bad has happened to me, more likely down to allah, but like i sed, i'm superstitious

dude.. i never heard of any bracelet.. i hear of tavees and for that u need a good imam and he reads stuff on that tweez.. so just a simple bracelet won't do.. and don't buy a random tawweez from anybody.. make sure u get it from a imam who actually know's what he's doing

No taveez, bracelet, wrist straps are gonna keep away the Shaitan. They are but mere objects.
Only Allah can help you.

That's against islam to put your faith in a bracelet/amulet. Just by doing that you're disrespecting Allah. Whatever is meant to happen will happen, regardless, and even when bad things happen, how do you know its because of Shaitan? It could be a test of faith. Don't put your faith in objects like that. Superstition is against Islam.. you know that right? o.O

DO YOU mean, those black string/bracelets?, the ones to protect u against 'nasar'?......tht aint really a muslim/arab thing, its just soemtimes culture in pakistan to wear black to protect you.
anyways i think you can normally get them from desi areas, or even white areas just selling cheap jewllery, tehy normally have em. :)

I think u are talking about tahvehz (but that goes around your neck), usually the mulana reads or writes a surah or a prayer into it, closes it up (not to sure about the actual step by step making of it), anyway i don't think it's haraam as it holds duas in it, now if u are using it for relief it's ok but if u are having faith in it rather than on Allah swt that it will protect u than yes it is haraam.

i'm not putting my "faith" into a bracelet. i pray on a daily basis asking for forgiveness for my sins and protection from allah. wearing the bracelet is something that i have worn for a long time and would like to continue to do so, and by doing so, i don't see how i'm being disrespectful to Allah. there are millions of people around the world who wear it, be it taaweez or nasar. are you suggesting that they are also being disrespectful to Allah??
you are able to accuse somebody of being disrespectful to islam, but you are able to post pics of yourself which are being viewed by hundreds of men who are unknown to yourself. take a look in the mirror before accuse people of being disrespectful to Allah.

You can't justify something by saying everyone else does it.
What do you hope this bracelet will do for you?

i'm not trying to justify anything, i don't need to justify anything to anybody whose doesn't know me...i'm just pointing out the fact that there are many muslims in the world today who wear it

look if your faith is strong in Allah, I dont understand why you need this taweez or bracelet thing, it is a totally man made concept has nothing to do with our religion. Superstition is haram anyway...so if you want to wear a bracelet wear it just for the heck of it but dont think of it as some charm that wards off shaytaan or evil spirits, shaytaan can only be kept away by a strong iman.

with all due respect there are many muslims in todays world that do many many haram things, but that doesn't make the haram things right or even tolerable.
the fact that you think a physical object and not god will be involved in putting some effect on your life is where you go towards a path or making Allah and his powers have limits.
again im not stepping on any toes just trying to better understand you.

you havent said that, but when you wear a bracelet you basically imply that...

its not shirk you are not worshipping the wrist band. The wrist band is basically blessed by reading some prayers on it. Many people have it such as taveez. You also get holy water which is blessed called zam zam which people drink to purify themselves. If you want one you should go to your local masjid.

believe me its a totally pakistani concept, it really has nothing to do with Islam. and people who drink and bathe in Zam Zam believing it to have special powers are deluded too, it doesnt purify you or stop you from committing evil deeds or bless you or anything, it is just good for health and better than the normal drinking water we have, and it tastes great. zam zam has been my drinking water for most of my life...

but theres nothing wrong with it. You can have a bracelet or necklace that has been blessed by some prayers by someone holy, Its good for babies to keep evil away from them. I agree you shouldnt bathe in zam zam.
