Right so its my 18th today, woke up feelin normal bla bla, an then got a call from swindon from my Aunts friend to my dad saying we'v seen your sons picture and we'v heard hes a decent boy, would you like for him and my daughter to get engaged (SHES ONLY 16!). Thankfully my dad said no hes too young an jus laughed it of.

Now dont you think that is really messed, and certain parents are way too backwards and livin of their indian ideals when their not in india anymore. God knows what the girls thinking right now, tryin to be married of at that age.

Agreed, a friend of mine whos 18 got married a few months ago, her dad found out she had a bf an kicked her out of the house so she decieded to get married to the guy. But that was partly her dads fault, and thing is her dad lets her younger brother have girlfriends but he didn let her. So its parents not givin their sons and daughters the same treatment which is also part of the problem aswell.

dude, that's nothing! when i was 14, this call came from New York from these folks that my parents close frinds who live up there...they wanted me and their son who was 19 at the time to engaged because they adored me ...cause iw as polite n well mannered...which is what i'm suppose to be around ADULTS...:sick:

Our genration is just mollycoddled and spoiled thus we havent matured like their genration cos we never had to...

Things have changed, in india it was a lot easier for men to get jobs, all that was done was men went into the family business as soon as they were married by however old they wer and wer able to settle for life and a lot of us are going uni and not gettin a proper job till were 21/22 so we cant really support a family can we?
