Well im of to tot court road tomrow to buy either a Iriver H340 or a Ipod photo (30 gig one). But i still aint got a single clue which one to buy, any feedback on either would be much appreciated.

i ave got the i-river ihp-120 reali nice easy to use n wiv 20 gb space, built in radio and voice recorder i like it lol i think i-rivers are the best but not alot of ppl ave herd of them

I-River has got better reviews than the IPOD Phote, but sayin that i've got an IPOD Photo and i really like it, plus it helps that it's a colour screen.

it's not too bad, i use it quite often i have to charge it like every 2 or 3 days.

The sony H3 is quite good, it's better than the IPOD but not as good as the Iriver, my brothers got it and i really like it + it's got good reviews.

actually yeh theres newer sony models out now, i got the original one, its small, hardly weighs a thing, still havnt filled 20 gigs, and ive put god knows how many albums, but i bought new headphones tho, the ones u get r crap, i bought the £30 ones, i forgot the name, but they have rubber bit on the ends, in ear ones, mdxr or some model.

it converts it to atrac 3 format, i have 40 gb of music on my comp, and atleast 30 of has been transferred, and yet i still have 8 gb free on the player :D

Ipods SUCK....they're so not worth it....so just go with the Iriver

None! I've had 3 Ipods and they all messed up. I sent 1 to my bro in law and he sent it back cause it wasnt working...neither the store i bought it from fixed it, nor did apple. the company sux! Iriver isn't that well known and mp3s are goin out now. If i was to get anything, it would be an MP4 (Multimedia player). It plays movies, songs, you can have games, softwares, files, everything in it! I'm sorry to say, but as far as Apple is concerned, I hate it! I was supposed to be doing business with them too, but after these incidents, I backed out! Seriously, try US Modular or RCA or Sony or even the Iriver MP4s! The 20 gb one should cost as much as the 30 gig IPOD except in the mp4 u can have files, photos, movies, etc. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll get it for you.

I have an iRIVER IHP-120 (20Gb).

It's great because it has an FM radio and it doubles as a dictaphone. Sound quality is excellent and apparently the iRIVER brand is more popular in the states than the iPod.

I'd go for the iRIVER.

They're all shit- especially the ipod. The only one I can truly recommend if you're a true audiophile is the Rio Karma which is 20 gig stock but you can mod it to a 60 gig with a hitachi microdrive. It's parent company is Denon -you can't argue with that. So comparing the Sony's and iPods is pointless. It's also cheaper. That's free advice.
