View Full Version : can you burn movies on to a regular CD?

just wanted to know if i can download .avi .mpg .mpeg .rar .rmr .wmv all these video file extensions, can i burn them on to a regular cd? so i can free up some room on my drive. if you can burn them, can i later on copy the movies from the cd and back on to my hard drive?

i put all my films on to my mp3 player and store them like that but tried your way b4 and burned a film on to a normal cd then tried it on a dvd player and worked but dont kno if u can stick it back on to ur pc like dat

thats the shit im talkin bout lol

u can burn any movie on a cdr aslong as the movie is 700mb or less, i suggest u get 700mb 80 mins cdr's cuz thats the average size for a movie, and yes u can copy them onto ur hd any time u want after they are on cd hope this helps

haha lol i know wut u mean lol i dl about 85 gigs of movies a month on a 40gb drive lol haha

if u need a burning program jus use Nero or Roxio 6

you can burn it in vcd format but not dvd with nero

i have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4. do i have to change the file name to certain extension b4 burning them? and i have to burn it as DataCD, right?

i had nero and got rid of it. it wasnt working right.

burn as a data cd and u dont need to change any extensions

aight. i was able to burn them on to a CD. but i couldnt play it on any of the dvd players or the ps2.

any suggestins?

for it to play on a dvd playter or ps2 u need to convert it to a vcd but u will have some quality loss and some pixels

where do you download movies from?

if you want your movies to play on tv ->

you must burn them in vcd/svcd format. get the movie in that format, or you have to convert if first. theres lot of sites online on how to do this, just hit up google.

you need to make sure the movie follows the vcd/svcd format otherwise it wont play.

if youre burning just to backup or something, just burn them straight to the cd (a data cd).

u should get a dvd burner and burn onto that- better quality than svcd and vcd. or get a bigger hard drive, they dont really cost that much.
