Veer Zaara isn't that sad. It lacks some emotions. not the best Yash Chopra movie. nevertheless its a good enough movie to win the filmfare best picture awards. i think Swades was more sad.

When you're targeting an audience which has never seen japanese super bikes on screen, let alone motorcycle themed movies, it's a risky investment. Being able to pull it off and turn over a profit on it, is only icing on the cake. The general public doesn't react well to something new, unless you've got a Khan, Roshan, or a Bhachan backing the film.

While Veer-Zaara maybe sad and depressing but Swades was more realistic; humorous. I seriously thought Gayatri would win best new comer. She has potential to become a star.

I totally agree. It definitely lacked some emotions. It was well directed but it wasnt the best of yash chopra movies.
