BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A founding member of Korn is leaving the band to focus on his religious beliefs. "Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian `Head' Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end," said a statement posted Tuesday on Korn's Web site.

Welch told The Bakersfield Californian that his decision might be surprising to some. "A lot of people think I'm crazy. I don't care."

Welch said he'd become increasingly disenchanted with producing heavy metal music that invokes dark and morbid images.

"Those guys in the band, they're not bad guys. They're just a bunch of kids getting marketed how these guys in the big corporate firms want to do," Welch said. "It makes us look like bad people, but we're really just a bunch of kids who never had a chance to grow up."

Korn is working on its eighth album, set for release later this year. The band's self-titled 1994 debut album sold more than 2 million copies.

err thats Head, right?

Anyway, its about damn time they disbanded. I mean, Issues was an ok album, but not upto koRn standard. And everything latter sucked.

Oh, and its kinda amusing that he left for religion. bahaha

I used to be KoRn freak back in the day.

Really loved their first 3 albums, after that everything was pure crap.

But I definitely have to tip my hat to those guys.

Korn had some serious talent in that band.

Head & Munky with their 7 string guitars.

Fieldy with his unorthodox ways of playing the bass.

David has got to be one of the best drummers to ever grace music scene.

And I loved how Jon really got emotional in his chunes

Since they were based on his fucked up life.

I'm so happy they played a role in bringing Limp Bizkit to the mainstream. I can't thank Korn enough for that. Seriously, life was empty until I heard "break stuff"
Korn sucks. So boring and so predictable.

Uh... Limp Bizkit was the biggest tragedy to ever smear rock's image.

Aww man, Munkey was my favorite! And yeah, David is a good drummer but I'd pick Danny Carey from Tool over David. Jon was a bit creepy... but given his past, its understandable. I loved the bagpipes though.
