now i know y'all dont know me but i was jsut wondering what you chicas think of arranged marrige. I think even you "independent" women should let your parents provide you with a pool of men to choose from. :)

i wouldnt base my life's decisions on an event as unlikely as that.

And if by "barely know" you mean
Talks over a period which usualy lasts about 6 months..followed by engagment, then the actual marrige within usualy a month to a year's time span...then i cant help you.

Its not like parents make up their mind one day and my the end of the week you have to spread your legs for a guy you barely know

then how do you explain the high divorce rate in western societies? :)
you talk like love marriges are so full of appriciation and agreement. If anything they are less of a contract thna the home mortgage

you are saying that you cant truly love someone if your marrige was arranged to them. I dont think thats true. HOrmonal and emotional change taht happen after a wedding are very powerfull.

arranged marriage is wrong when its forced. but in Islam you are only allowed to talk to the guy or girl with your parents present. you cant date, so muslim's can't have a love marriage if they wanna get married the Islamic way. i'm not worried about my husband turnin out gay and stuff like that, i'm pretty much leavin it in God's hands.

part of the reason for fewer divorces back home is that women are generally more submissive/tolerant/willing to put up with shit if there are problems in the marriage

also, its kinda hard for women to remarry after a divorce so they just accept their situation
