View Full Version : The cure for all diseases = Lemon + cayenne pepper + maple syrup!

Or so say the fans of Stanley Burrough's Lemonade diet.
I actually tried it once. For 3 days and then I chickened out. Basically its a fast, except you drink glasses of peppered lemonade with maple syrup.
Its sorta like enhanced fasting. When a sick person, or even a healthy person fasts, what happens is their body stops taking in solid food...and the body organs dont need to work on getting rid of all this new junk and dirt coming into the system any more.
So what does the body do? It starts getting rid of all the junk thats backlogged...like dirt and stuff in the liver, fatty deposits and mineral deposits in joints and crevices that really shouldnt be there. On a cellular level, toxins are also removed while no new ones are added.
So basically the body gets a chance to do a spring cleaning of itself...all sorts of allergies and aches and pains start to dissappear. Mucous....gets thrown out of the body. Everything gets unclogged and the lungs clear up, sinuses get cleansed and open up, eyes turn from bloodhot dirty red to white and bright. Tongues that used to have yellowish or white coatings start to look healthy and pink. The immune system starts to work better.

For each glass you need 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, two tablepoons of maple syrup(as dark as possible) and then as much cayenne pepper as you can handle in that glass.
No I didnt go to the gym, this isnt a bulking diet or even a cutting diet its not a DIET its a fast. The whole idea of a fast is to heal up your body.
The concept is this, if you got a bad liver and gall bladder thats choked up with stones and cholesterol balls and stuff, then doing this FAST(not diet) is sorta similar to takin a high powered water nozzle and hosing all the dirt and crud and filth out of your liver, kidneys, joints, lymph nodes thats been piling up there for years and years of eating garbage.
Its supposed to make sick people better and healthy people healthier and stronger, specifically their ORGANS. When you are done with it you are supposed to then go back to solid food and the rest of your life.

This isnt a miracle diet, its supposed to be a FAST. A diet is when you eat nurtients, a fast is when you eat nothing. Technically when you fast you are supposed to eat NOTHING for like a week or two. You just drink water. The reason really sick people do fasts is to stop takin in food and just let the body rest, when the body rests it also throws out toxic waste thats lying all over in different parts of the body. The sick get well and the healthy get healthier and stronger.
Now the problem with fasts is that if the person who is fasting is already low in nutritional reserves...then that person will get even LOWER in those reserves. But this lemonade fast sneaks in a tiny tiny amount of very pure and clean liquid nutrients that still let the body clean its crud and filth out as if a person was eatin NOTHING but they also give you pure vitamins, minerals to correct any deficiencies and stop malnutrition during the fast(if you got low reserves).
And its NOT meant to build muscle, it is just meant to clean out and tune up the liver, lymph system, joints etc. Dude if you dont understand the concepts behind fasting, the medical concepts not the religious junk, then you wont understand the logic behind the lemonade diet.

The body eats itself. It breaks down old and weak cells and reconstructs them into new cells. According to that doc, the need for fresh protein in the diet is greatly exagerrated, he said that 90% of a body's protein synthesis needs comes from recycling cells that are already in the body and on schedule to be broken down for rebuilding. I guess your body still needs EFAs and certain types of protiens that it cannot manufacture but those have to be present in the diet.

Whats the logic, if any, behind honey doing such nice things to you? And do you own a real hat...or just beanies and caps?
I heard people saying to mix honey with lemon juice and water too...so I dunno. Blackstrap Molasses is supposed to be a very very healthy type of sugar and it has even been said to cure diabetes if taken correctly. Part of that lemonade diet book shows you how to cure diabetes using a variation of this lemonade and maple fast along with some blackstrap molasses in the very beginning.

This is what the author of the book has to say about honey:
WHAT ABOUT THE USE OF HONEY?
Honey must not be used at any time internally. It is manufactured from the nectar picked up from the flowers by the bees” good enough in itself, perhaps” then predigested, vomited and stored for their own future use with a preservative added. It is deficient in calcium and has many detrimental effects for the human being.
According to one authority, honey is a magical and mystical word in Healthfoodland¯. It is one of the most over promoted, overpriced products being sold to gullible health food advocates. The great value attributed to honey is delusive, honey is only a little less empty and more dangerous than sugar.¯
Just as with alcohol, honey, being predigested, enters the blood directly, raising the sugar content very rapidly above normal. To correct this, the pancreas must produce insulin immediately or possible death can occur. More insulin than necessary is likely to be produced, and the blood sugar level then drops below normal. This can produce blackout spells and even death if it goes to low. When blood sugar is below normal, a person will feel depressed.
The regular use of honey can create constant imbalanceswhich in turn will adversely affect the normal function of the liver, pancreas and spleen. Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia are the results of the use of unbalanced sugars. The balanced sugar in maple syrup and sugar can juice causes no dangerous side effects. Artificial, synthetic, and refined sugars have no place in a natural diet.

Did you try it yet? Im beginning to think its a little bit of a scam...at least the maple syrup part. They guy says its got a hella lotta vitamins in the syrup but do you know how they make that syrup? By BOILING maple sap. Last time I checked, heat destroyed most vitamins. So whats so freakin unique about maple syrup. Why not some blackstrap molasses which supposedly "cures" diabetes according to the same book he wrote. Why not stick with that during this whole fast? :sarb:
Some of what he said makes sense cuz its a fact that just drinking water will heal you up if you are really sick...even though your body has to eat itself to stay alive. And it makes sense to get calories from the sugar so you dont have to munch that much of yourself. But why not take something like olive oil for your calories instead? Thats not gunna "dirty up" the liver is it?

Ok I have thought about the sugar and I guess you need it to prevent the body from eating its own muscles for calories. You need calories, like 2000 calories a day for the fast to keep your body functions all fueled up. Two tablespoons of maple per glass of lemonade...thats not too bad is it? Maybe when a person doesnt get enough calories during the day their metabolism would slow down to 70% of normal and they would burn just your own fat and protein of the body?
Thats all I can think of. After I did it myself exactly like the book said for 3 days...I thought that maybe I could replace 2 spoons of maple with 1 spoon of extra virgin olive oil cuz they got the exact same calories. I dunno...thats partly why I gave up on it cuz I knew I had to do a lot more research. I just dont like it when people tell you to do stuff without explaining everything 100% cuz it makes me uncomfortable.

well the first parts tru too butt sooo much sugar is bad rightt? and they claim that acne and all also clears out...hows that possible with soo much sugar??
I had my doubts about the sugar as well. The calories ie the ENERGY in two tablespoons of maple syrup is equal to the calories in one tablespoon of olive oil. I know that whenever I take sugary stuff..like when I binge on it, something happens I guess to my immune system and I break out within 12 hours...just little whiteheads usually but thats still SOMETHING bad. This has happened with white sugar, figs and dates as well as other "junkier" sugar. When I was on it for three days I dont think I broke out...cant remember.
I know olive oil causes a lot less ruckuss in the body...its more stable as a source of energy. But oil also needs bile puked out from the liver into the stomach and maybe that breaks the "fast" and slows or stops the spring cleaning process? Stanley even says diabetics cannot do this fast, but he also says they have a chance if they use blackstrab molasses in the beginning. I dunno...I went through all this thinking too and there were so many possibilities and complications and his book was so simplistic that I just shelved it.
But yeah theres answers out there for everything, I just havent got them all figured out yet. The benefits still attract me, all the stories are amazing too.
