Is there anyone here who has ever had a totally painless period? Or more than one painless period?
I know some can be painful but all of them painful? Are some periods bearable for some of you girls or is each single one pure torture?

Noticed any patterns? Would you say that a month of eating total junk food and not sleeping enough or working out might lead to painful ones? Oh...and you dont take asprin or other pills for the periods to fix the pain do you?

when i was younger yeah.. about 14-15 ... maybe because i was highly active back then.. always running around.. playing sports. keeping yourself in motion can help ease the pain.

Maybe the activity helped make you healthier so as not to get the pain as opposed to "easing the pain". I mean maybe the pain comes due to health problems, rather than the pain being eased by activity the activity itself might be causing the health problems not to be problems in the first place.

Yes, I usually have painless periods. Maybe once or twice a year I'll get some moderate cramping, but that's about it. Although, I don't know if it is necessarily a good thing, or if there might something wrong with me [in regards to painless periods].

It's a good thing... each girl has a different reaction to her period, some are worse the others, some are really, really bad. You are on the lucky side.

Yeah, but I've always wondered.. could there be another explanation for it? Like, what if it means somethings not functioning properly in my reprod. system.. or, if i'm not even ovulating?? I've tried to google it a long time ago, but couldn't find an answer

Its obviously a good thing. Now the question is do you get one every month or do you skip often. Im askin this cuz its also "bad" to be irregular especially on a continuing basis.

So I guess the pain isnt really that crippling when you do have pain, if you can do without tylenol just fine(which is toxic junk and better avoided anyway). But what you didnt say was if you skip a lot of periods every year or are they regular for the most part?

No, I get it every 28-29 days, never missed a period.

If your periods are regular, every 28 days or so theres very little chance something is wrong. I think the pain is usually caused by nutritional deficiencies or perhaps some other problem in the uterus.

Estrogen pills? What kinda pills are these...I dont see how they are irregular if they occur every month. Seems like your gyno is pretty irresponsible about pushing pills for no reason. Doesnt seem like you need them.

actually they can be VERY irregular despite the fact that i do get them every month... and by 'the pills' i meant birth control pills i know a lot of my friends are taking them (and no it really doesn't have anything to do with sex) it was just an option which my gyno suggested since the pills help decrease the pain too along with regulate the period

how healthy you are can be a factor.. it is for my cousin who`s in perfect shape, and she has told me she hardly ever gets cramping.

Pills are good stuff, you're periods will be completely regular since you'll control it with the placebo pill. Cramps basically happen when the uterus contracts to shed it's lining every month. It's worse in some girls. Pills can help that by stabilizing the hormonal levels of your body. If you miss periods for a few months at a time, then that's bad, and should be evaluatedd by a gyne. Plus they can help with acne. Just don't smoke when you're on them.

Hmmm...my periods are very irregular. i get them a month and then i dont get them for like 4-5 months and then i get them again. so shud i start takin birth control pills too??
rager
January 24th, 2005, 02:56 AM
Well, 4-5 months without a period isn't completely normal. Irregular periods can be caused by a lot of different things. I don't know how old you are, but you should consider seeing a gynecologist just to have things evaluated by a specialist, and make sure that it's not something like PCOS that can easily be controlled with a birth control pill.

4 -5 MOTNHS DANG GURL.........DATS HELLA ABNORMAL
rager
January 24th, 2005, 03:23 AM
Well, it's not hella abnormal, but is something that should be evaluated a little further. Just tell your primary care about, and they can determine if you need to be seen by a gynecologist. He/she might just start you on the birth control pill and see if it helps.
