I've just started reading up on fats and which are good and which are bad. Well skimming through this liver detox book it seems they want you to avoid butter but load up on stuff like cold pressed olive oil, cold pressed flax seed oil and avoid "rancid oils" which are bad for you. So as far as health is concerned and nourishment what are good oils and what are bad oils. I know the EFAs are essential and I suspect...despite what that liver book says...that some animal based fats such as cod liver oil, butter, tallow....just HAVE to be good for you as opposed to bad.

A lot of people seem convinced that weak livers choke on butter but thank you when you feed them extra virgin olive oil or flax seed oil.
