View Full Version : Shiva's Total Transformation - a 4 month Odyssey.

I decided that it was time to transform myself into what I've wanted for a few years now. To do that, I have started to eat properly, do lots of cardio, and most importantly to lift weights. I have a few extra pounds so that cardio will help immensely. That being said I technically started 2 weeks ago, but it was very light cardio and only some weights so I don't count it. My official Transformation started this Monday, 4 days ago on the 17th of January, 2005. I will work out with purpose, and my goal is a total body transformation by April 21st. Some say it takes 4 months so if I cannot meet that goal it will be May 21st. This is going to take a LOT of hard work and dedication... so, without further adeu:

Monday I ran for 10 minutes, and following that did a rapid and dedicated chest/back workout. This was followed by another 30 minutes of running.

Tuesday I ran for 30 minutes, then did ab excersises. A total of 60 crunches on a medicine ball, and 120 side crunches on a medicine ball. This was followed by another 30 minutes of running.

Wednesday was arm day - I ran for 10 minutes, then did a rapid and dedicated bicep/tricep/forearm workout, followed by another 30 minutes of running.

Today is Thursday, I did 30 minutes of running, then the same ab workout (though my abs are SORE AS HELL), followed by a brief lower back excersise. Then I did another 30 minutes of running.

***

So far I feel great though sore, and I have to get to sleep by 2ish to recover. I'd rather sleep by 1 but I'm always busy doing something, including talking to a very cool chica (you know who you are) who I piss off by logging out for sleep lol :)

Tomorrow will be another hard-hitting workout and I'll describe it then. My goal as I said is a total body transformation, and if I am successful there will be pictures :P

Definetely will - luckily I'm genetically gifted with muscular legs, but I will be training them once a week - tomorrow I do shoulders and legs.

youd be surprised that I hear that excuse alot. I even used it myself when I first started lifting weights.

Many, many people have "strong" legs in comparison to thier upper-body so they neglect them and just concentrate on thier upper body.

Anyways, good to see you are working them.

Really? Well its not an excuse, I can calf-raise 500-600 pounds without practice (though I don't WANT to, I could hurt myself!!! lol). But I'm going to hit them once a week so I can strengthen them some anyway as well as tone them (Toning is very important for me).

Shiva be exhausted... today was shoulders and legs. Ran for 20 minutes and then moved on to lifting. So I did a total of 6 different shoulder excersises: shoulder presses, Arc Presses (my word for them) and Arnold presses, then cable press, cable forward, and cable back (hitting all heads of the deltoids). Then I did legs, and did 3 excersises that worked the front and back of the thigh and then the whole leg with a seated machine press (squat basically).

Yes, I be tired.

It's Saturday. Was going to do a full upper body working but a) I'm tired and b) It's snowing and there is already an inch of snow outside.

Soooo going to take a 2 day break and start again Monday!

Good stuff. Focus and Consistancy is the main key. and always remember lift smarter not harder. its all about form and nutrition.

I can calf raise close to that too.
So can alot of people.

Peoples legs are naturally stronger than the rest of thier body. But anyways, this is irrelevant, as long as you work them legs.

Well let's agree to disagree on that one point - I haven't seen too many people lifting that much naturally.

But anyway - today my workout week started again, so I hit the gym. Today was chest and back day, and I've added in running on the indoor track as well to my cardio. But since I'm terrible with endurance I have to build it up, so after a 30 minute run on the eliptical I ran for 1 minute on the track. Tomorrow will be 1 minute 10 seconds, etc.

Feelin' good! :)
