ive been doing bicep curls to tone my upper arms...after two weeks i noticed muscle growth. and now after five weeks...i feel as if my arms are bulking up in muscle....i dont want that...i want it to be tone...but not bulky...what do i do....
this is what i was doing for my biceps:
first two weeks--2 reps of 15 @ 10 pounds
and for the past three weeks ive been doing 2 reps of 15 @ 15 pounds...because 10 pounds felt light.

If you want to "tone" then you need to run and do cardio.
"Spot reduction" is a myth.
Secondly, women are not genetically pre-dispositioned to get big and huge, so dont worry. Your biceps will get a little firmer and a tiny-bit bigger but that is as far as it will go.

no, unless you already have low body fat and can see your abs.
You need to run and diet in order to get your body fat percentages down in order to see your abs.
Then you start doing crunches, sit ups, etc. Otherwise youll just have strong abs hidden under some fat (nothing wrong with that, if that is your goal).

no cycling will work fine, as long as you get your heart rate up and sweat. I just use running as an example because it is the standard cardio excercise.
However, you should change to a different cardio excercise in the future in order to have some variety in your routine.
As far as the lady, it is a generalized statement. Most women who do not want to get big will not. There are some who DO want to be muscular and can get very muscular but they have to try much harder than men.
So dont worry about it. You wont get buff. ;)

what dayus said. step up the cardio. focus on keeping your heart rate high moreso than the amount of time you're on the machines.
I do pretty high intensity cardio - my heart rate stays at 190+ for upwards of 10 min at a time. But keeping your heart rate at 160+ is where you need to be for a decent cardio workout.
