yeah, i`m doing this survey project thingie for pre-med/pharm class.. wanna know your opinions on cryonics and reanimation...

and for you ignorant people, cryonics is freezing a human's body (who just recently died) to prevent decomposition so that in the future, the person might be brought back to life (which is reanimation.)

sooo... would you want your body to be frozen and reanimated in the future? and explain.

Nope, and i dont think that ill will be possible to bring someone/anything back to life, if it isnt within a minute.
Once the brain dies (along with the heart)
its basically useless, and my theory is...

if they ever can reanimate Walt disney (no pun intended lolz)
he's gonna come back brain dead and die within a few days

It might be possible if the brain is preserved quickly enough before you're dead. Although the technology of freezing yourself is there.. executing it in terms of bringing someone back someone's vital signs in order to live might be too difficult to do.. but only the future can predict that.

Along with nanotechnology (tiny machines at the atomic level) which MIGHT be in place within the next century then it MIGHT be possible.

I'd do it.

yeah, thats one disadvantage of reanimation.. there's a risk of brain damage. and there's gonna be a psychological effect -- they might feel alienated from the rest of the world. its like going to sleep for so many years and waking up suddenly, and you have no idea what you missed.

i don`t know. the concept sounds a bit bogus to me. its practically like ruining the circle of life.. one being has to die in order to make room for more. or else the world will be overflowing with them.

1) its survey, not survery
2) thing, not thingie
3) what premed class? I didn't know they had pharm in college. interesting.
4) your, not you're

5) why are you asking people and then calling them ignorant?
6) once dead, no amount of science will bring anyone back to life. sure, you can keep the heart alive but you can never get a brain back .. why? because it starts necrotizing after 3 minutes of ischemia. even if the brain was intact, it can never be "restarted"

7) why would I want to "come back" ? I'd rather die in peace than have people mutilate my body for science.

well, if you're doing a survey on this, I don't think you should be posting your views as they'll influence the responses. But, I do agree with you,I don't think its a good idea.

is this just a discussion topic or are you going to use it in ur survey?

1. typo.. sorry
2. i say thingie sometimes.. don`t shoot me!
3. i`m not in college.. its a special class in my school called pre-med/pharm that prepares us for college.. so when we go, we`ll know some more information than people who DIDN`T take that class.
4. typo again.. i was in a rush.
5. um.. not many people know whats cryonics and reanimation.. i`m just cluing them in on what is it.. any problem? :?
6. thanks for the answer
7. ok.. thats what i need to know for my survey project.

Fully agreed! You took the words right out of my mouth...

Btw, at our school, there is only one pharmacology class. I think at USCB or something there is in fact a pharmacology major.

Cryogenics, nanotechnology, and human cloning are going to make for a very interesting future. Good thing I won't be there.
