View Full Version : The Human Body: it seems we believe that we need to eat more then we truely need

Look at America.. No, really.. think about it and the people. Is it possible today to go outside and not view a body filled with body bulges, and no I do not mean curves on a female. I mean being overweight.. and not slightly, I do mean excessively.

If I'm not mistaken, which I probably am, there are at least more then 50% of americans who are overweight. This is an alarming number. What if this was cancer or any other disease? It would receive emergency type acknowledgement! Yet we still don't see much urge to accept it as anything hazardous to the extent that it SHOULD be. Yes, there are warning and diets but it should be more serious then that.

The human body probably doesnt need as much as half of what you eat on a daily basis! It's true.. try it! You can get everything your body truely needs whether it be vitamins, minerals.. etc. to keep yourself being totally healthy. It probably varries from person to person but its psychological that we think we need what the producers and the economy tells us we need..

We = Cash for food producers..

Don't you think we're killing our own selves? How you ask?

we make the crappy canned goods or whatever the shit we eat (im sure most of u eat crappy foods daily..)

and then we sell it to our own selves, and we get fatter and more richer

we are becoming a fat, rich, early dying society and theres almost no stopping it.

srry if this is off topic, but u make good health threads that remind people of what "exactly" they are eating, and how it can affect their life. In a way Americans from at least some part of america are stuffing there faces with fatty foods, no wonder America is not a tourist attraction toward Europeans, probably because of our appearance and arrogance- some philosophical chit-chat.

karma, you are exactly right. the sad thing is, is that the FDA is purposely doing this to us so they and the diet companies can profit huge amounts off of our sickness.

the diet industry makes billions. companies are putting ingredients in our food to make us fat and hooked onto the food, and ironic as it is, most of these products are diet products, so the more you think you are loosing weight the more you will get hooked on the food and keep eating it and getting fatter and fatter.

actually i believe america is the second& third most popular tourist destination in the world
but yeah back to the main point..
ummmm i read somewhere that in the UK we are actually eating 25% less then we did in 1900. HOWEVER because of the change in society ie less manual labour, higher usauge of cars etc, we are exercising a lot less, so we are still gaining weight even tho we are eating less :( .

Thank you. It's quite true.. everyone needs to reminded at some point that they'll become fat one day. It's quite fun, try it out lol

You're dead on! Can we all be that blind? Americans go to harvard and all these top colleges and graduate with masters and all that f'in BS when they can't even get enough common sense to realize the dumbest thing about them is going right into their mouth.. the problem is literally right under their noses.. they do so much research but instead of researching food and it's properties, they should research the economy instead! THATS the f'in problem.

The more fat people out there...the more likely anyone who is remotely 10-20 pounds overweight will look skinny..if your not a round blob, your practically skinny..well..lol yeah.
Some people just cant control themselves. In fact critics who criticise overwieght people are not skinny themselves..Just look at that Atkins creator guy..he ate healthy, but apparently that didnt stop him drom dying early. Its clear he wasn't someone who exercised a lot either.

WHO THE FUCK CARES?! I'm not fat. I have a high metabolism so I can eat as much shit as I want without putting on any weight. And I probably won't make it by the time my metabolism slows down...

I guess they don't tell you these things. Being skinny doesn't mean anything less then two shits. You probably will have a serious medical condition within your arteries due to the clogging of them by the bad eating habits that you will persistantly maintain because of your naive attitude to what you eat.. Probably because you will end up dying frmo a heart attack because the amount of saturated fats stays in your body , maybe not as fat but it only takes one small block somewhere to kill you flat. I blame this stupid marketing and lack of information given to people for that.

haha, truueee but mr. atkins himself wasn't the definition of healthy.. his diet consisted of all fats and proteins to decrease the weight.. so they may have been skinny but their insides where a toxic wasteland waiting to explode.. as it did. I hope it serves a message to the rest that it's still marketing making them believe that is healthy..

the only REAL healthy weight maintainingdiet is the food pyramid.. the others just aren't real

Who said I was skinny? Yes I am well aware about clogged arteries etc etc etc...I know I will probably die young...hence why I said I probably won't make it that far...I'm not afraid of dying! Hence...I don't give two shits what I eat or what other people eat...if they wanna become fat by eating shit loads be my fucking guest...all I have to say to them is gimme their left overs!

You could live three times as long just by being smart.. Example

Linebackers who eat to get big die young, some die at 30.. Japanese die over 100. Their diets are good and healthy.

If you don't care about dying fair enough. But do you care about your family? then you would stay alive for them.. if you don't care for them.. then fair enough too.

Oh man you are good! Of course I care about my family...but call me selfish but if I choose to die then thats that. If someone wanted to commit suicide then they should...I dont believe that it would be selfish for them to do it just to keep their family happy and to prevent them from being sad...now THAT is selfish....why do we say I LOVE YOU to someone...to get the response back!...We fear for the safety of others because WE don't want to experience grief...that is selfish my friend... Anyway it's all about negative utilitarianism...take away someone's unhappiness...this is just an example btw I don't wanna commit suicide...but if I were to die then so be it...people will just have to deal with it...I can understand why this sounds selfish...but I'm too crazy to accept it :blahblah:

desis are not lean, but on an average desis seem to have a faster metabolism than a regular american or less calories in their diet. so they are not as fat as an avg american.

I dunno if its just me but either desis look scrawny and malnourished or they look obese. Theres no normal, lean, fit lookin desis like there are so many goras. Is this diet or genetics...how much of each?

It's both.. it goes hand in hand let me explain

Desi's diet naturally revolves around taste of the food.. it's not nutricious. Over time, our bodies have adapted and we naturally tend to keep what we eat. As our bodies as just evolved around our food.. If you change your diet, it will be only half the battle.. genetics is against you as you naturally want to store all of it cause your genetically inclined to over time.. because of (it came back around to) food.

I am not so sure about that. I have been reading a lot of studies about desi nutrition and desi diets and desi malnutrition, most of them done by the brits during colonial rule and it seems genetics isnt such a big factor.

Have you seen the Disasterpieces DVD? The first time I heard Skin Ticket I was blown away...the lyrics, the screaming/singing, guitar, drums are just agonisingly incredible! Have you got Ares? It's a P2P you should be able to get it off there...if not just but the album or something...Wait & Bleed definately is a classic I remember seeing the video for the first time and I was like...I want to be in that pit! :dribble: Nah they tour shit loads in America too...other songs I like by the knot..all of em really...fav ones are Skin Ticket, Wait & Bleed, Iowa, Killers are Quiet, I Am Hated, Vermilion Part 1, Circle....I've met Joey Jordison...got a pic taken with him unmasked! At the moment I'm obsessed with Dream Theater...they are progressive rock...have been compared to Iron Maiden but less mainstream but they are TRUE musicians...

Yeh definately was a good convo you had some very good points...I'm just REALLY stubborn!
