I think there has been alot of progress as far as women's rights are concerned in countries such as the US and the United Kingdom. In the past century i think alot has been achieved thus far. Im not saying everything is perfect but u have to make special considerations (type of job, employer...physical limitations...like if the woman has a baby) there is alot of things to consider.
if we take a look at womens rights across the globe i think this issue is minuscule in comparison to what is going on in other parts of the world. I mean, in some places women have no rights! Her life is at the mercy of her husband/father or whichever male relative is in her possession. In some countries a woman cannot leave her house without permission from her husband. She cannot drive (its better her 12yr old son drives because he is a man and has better sense) A woman is not allowed to be seen with a man who she isnt related to and if she is caught she can be convicted of adultery and sentenced to death. How about the idea that not only do u have to cover ur face and body so not a spec of human flesh is shown but u cannot speak above a whisper in public places because u might arouse a man and be punished for doing so!

There are alot of issues i can go into detail about..marriage arrangements(its funny how people condemn rape..but a man of 60yrs with 3 wives is allowed to marry a girl of 11 yrs old and no one says anything about it), female circumcision, adultery, SEXUAL SLAVERY...i mean i can go into grosteque detail about these violations...

MarrYMePlZzz, i agree. some places in the mid east are like that. i think saudi is like that.

i disagree with this however There are alot of issues i can go into detail about..marriage arrangements(its funny how people condemn rape..but a man of 60yrs with 3 wives is allowed to marry a girl of 11 yrs old and no one says anything about it), female circumcision, adultery, SEXUAL SLAVERY...i mean i can go into grosteque detail about these violations...
you cannot even bring rape into it. rape is something altogethjer different. thats like forcing yourself against someone's will. now child marriages, yes that is a disturbing custom. i can find us links and pics of child marriages in rural rajasthan that would shock you... or not. female circumcision, omg, africa... yes. north africa, to be specific and certain areas in the mid east. even india! oh i can go on, too but please, do tell.
