i bench 160 and i cant seem to go higher

i dont do much but if u juss start at lower amounts n tone ur muscles for ahwile then ur can do more

either..
1. take a week or two off.
2. switch to/add dumbell presses into your routine.
3. work more on your triceps and shoulders (and back).
4. try to bench 170 or more with a spotter, you wont be able to do it initially but your body will adapt eventually.

160lb is a 45lb standard bar with a 45lb plate + 10lb plate + 2 1/2lb plate on each side.

btw, judging by your height and weight you need work up your bench numbers.
35 on each end is 115lbs.

yea. what's your point?
all i am saying is that for a 150 lb, 5 11 "thug wannabe" you press little.
i am 135 and i bench 150lbs.
i dont think you run with your arms anyway so running drills do not tire your triceps.

what if he does 115 lbs and 100 reps? Would you still consider him weak? People are so obssessed with lifting heavy and forget about light weights and increased reps.

lol.. well ppl dont compare using age. they use body weight. however, if you do 160 you are definitely stronger.

that remains a "what if"
why would he cite those numbers (115lbs @100 reps) when people never do that many reps.

just a suggestion: you might want to do higher reps and lower the weights to cut.

bro, i dunno most people advice otherwise...lower reps and higher weights. i have even been adviced to go like max 4 reps.. but i think thats too low. i try to hit 6-8

Figure out what your max is and then use that to bench. The only difference is when you do these you have to go down really slow and then your spot helps bring it back up. Do 3 sets adding 5-10 pounds each time. Try to get 6 reps in each set. You'll feel it the next day, take 3-4 days off and then go back to normal sets, your weights should go up.
