remember that song by nas and lauren hill, "if i ruled the world"? in the song they glamorize their ghetto dreams, but using that same notion lets have some fun, do some intellectual masturbation. the federal elections in the States are around the corner, kerry is already hitting the campaign trial, and bush's minions are evading congressional hearing and nader, well i don't what he's up to but he's still the coolest american politician alive. anyways, if u were running for prez. what would your big three policy initiatives be? all three should be symbiotic, meaning u should have cause and effect plus interconnectedness. remember to keep them as lucid and succinct as possible.

(1) forgive third world debt; the west ain't going to get it anytime soon so its a symbolic move more than substantive one. nevertheless, most of the money was given vis a via the marshall plan's during the cold war to basically to launch a series of proxy wars who's effect is still very much felt through the entanglements communal (civil war) or regional instability. plus, it would make Bono really happy and I’ve always wanted my picture taken with him.

(2) honour Anti ballistic missile (ABM), non-proliferation nuclear treaties, get US troops of the 20+ foreign nations she currently occupies and transfer authority in Iraq to UN immediately. hybridized the remaining US troops to the UN and retrain them to be the world's largest benevolent peace keepers. this policy is designed to restore the integrity that Uncle Sam is surely lacking around the globe. i would really want america to be a non-interventionist country, we have fucked over latin america so bad exporting the presidential system which really means dictatorship to places like Chile (pinochet). the middle east and northern africa seem to be the bush administration next neo-imperial conquests. legitimacy is so important.

(3) reciprocate african americans (the 43 million i believe) and the remaining native Americans (after genocide) monetarily. this would help to circumvent white privilege a little bit and certainly help with the reconciliation process. the amount is too be determined. i would raise the moolah by halving military expenditure, decriminalizing pot (collecting the taxes on that), stop building prisons and reverse the regressive taxation on the working poor while starting to tax those offshore corporations that earn their coin in the United States. i must admit i'm a diehard socialist but i realize u need a cultural revolution (borrowing a maoist term) to accept socialism but i do think regulating unfettered capitalism and eliminating the nepotism awarded to government contracts would do a lot. getting back to the contentious reciprocity issue, the 40 acres and mule were promised to blacks and the land treaties with natives were never upheld. i guess its all about undoing past wrongs, i hate bad karma.

i guess nobody believes in democracy around here, can't say i blame u.

"Truth always rests with the minority, and the minority is always stronger than the majority, because the minority is generally formed by those who really have an opinion, while the strength of a majority is illusory, formed by the gangs who have no opinion -- and who, therefore, in the next instant (when it is evident that the minority is the stronger) assumes its opinion, which then becomes that of the majority, i.e., becomes nonsense...while Truth again reverts to a new minority."

okay this is really bugging me now. who cast the "nope" vote? i don't want to be confused with Mr. popularity but to see that the "nope" side is slanted at 100% every time i check the results is a little bit disheartening. i want answers, correct that i demand answers. i think i have a good platform, well shit nobody has called me out publicly on the forums so i guess it ain't that bad. so who is the purveyor of dissent? let your voice be heard!

Your White House dreams are certainly optimistic to say the least if you're of South Asian decent like the rest of us. I don't believe the white man will let a brown man into the oval office. Your big three sounds good, but I think with the exception of #3, you've got world politics ahead of American interests (If you are indeed running for the American presidency).

My big three (If I was to run for the American presidency, which I wouldn’t, I’m a proud Canadian)

(1) Disband the Federal Reserve, a central bank serves no real purpose to the average citizen. (Solution to the economic problems of America)

(2) Reduce the amount of power at the federal level and transfer it to the municipal level. (Solution to the social problems of America)

(3) Take that big "defense" budget and put it into a Health Care system, Education, and the creation of publicly owned forms of mass media i.e. TV stations, Radio stations, Newspapers, and other media. (There’s more than enough in the defense budget to cover all of this)

okay after a few days of being mia. from the forums i'm pleasantly surprised to see that i received one vote, giving me 50% of the popular vote. do u know how many politicians all over the world would kill for that, i’m suggesting actually murdering throngs of people for that? whoever u are (my supporter) god bless you!!! u know if this arcane god of yours exists. irrespective of matters of faith, doctor i think your policy initiatives are laudable. although, foreign policy is so much more intriguing than balancing the budget thats why i choose hot button issues. i think a president particularly in a democracy must get people thinking and acting or else u have despondent, apathetic democracy that are willing to send their daughters and sons to war in an act of uncritical obedience. regurgitating a chomsky tenet, "people are subservient to power" thats the unfortunate thing especially when an utopian democracy subscribes to a synchronicity between people and power. i’m a big believer in a participatory democracy, very anarchic in nature. what i mean by that is that people must organize and resist those polices which they find undesirable not violently but within the confines of democratic participation. moreover, i think we need a cultural revolution, that’s why i choose polices that are a titanic size departure from the status quo. if that happens people can start regulating big business and disband institutions in american society like the corporate media which u eluded to.

fyi, i too am canadian and a hyphenated, coloured canadian at that so the white house ain't a reality for me either. withstanding those details, trudeau once described living beside the united states as “sleeping beside an elephant” if it rolls over “oh shit,” so naturally as canadians and world citizens we should be hypersensitive about american politics. by the way, who voted for me?
