wtf it is far from being considered one of the best goal, best goals ever for me has to be..

Marco van Basten - Euro 88 against USSR. Awesome volley from an impossible angle. Technically superb.

Unquestionably the greatest goal ever scored in my opinion has got to be Maradonas dribble against England in the 1986 world cup. Skillfully out of the world, a fcking genius on the ball.

This is impossible. Everyone will have their own opinion.
Just like Arsene Wenger said a few seasons ago, "Everyone thinks they have the prettiest wife at home..."

Personally, Paul Gascoigne against Scotland, for a goal of individual brilliance. But there are better goals that have been scored.

However, it is very difficult to judge goals from different eras. Mainly because the game has changed dramatically over the past thirty years.

Teg

it was more da timing of gerrards goal dat made it special, must goals at pressure tyms r scrappy but this was a beauty at a time of pressure

but da greatest of all tym has to be maradonnas because of all it represented n da fact dat it shud have over shadowed da hand of god goal but sadly da english can neva accept defeat graciously e venthi theyve had enuff practice

Bergkamps 89th minute goal against Argentina in the 98 (i think) world cup, unfuckingbeleivable!

Oh and also the first goal from Holland in that game was one of the best team goals I have ever ever seen

But as someone yet Maradonna against England was just too sensational!!

As a fan of English footy I was jumping and celebrating wid the Liverpool fans when Gerrard scored! and Andy Grays reaction was too funny

I guess it depends on what kind of goals you like.. some like the ones where they go past every1 like the Maradona goal in 86, or Giggs' goal in the FA cup semi. Then theirs ofcourse as u guys said the goals that show players' great technical ability such as Gazza's in 96 and Bergkamps in the 98 wc. I like the screamers..

Does anyone remember that goal by Clarence Seedorf when he was playin for Madrid? A screamer not far from the half way line. Totally different from that goal Beckham got against Barnsley from halfway.. this one was travelling at some speed...

Most of you will not remember this and will be like :? ....but from a totally biased point of view....

Tony Yeboah... Leeds United vs Liverpool Aug 94 or 95... (my memory aint as good as it used to be)....

Tony Dorigo as usual from left back lofts the ball up field... Rod Wallace heads it down to Yeboah... who on the volley... hits the ball so sweetly from 35+ yards... get it to dip and goes into the back of the net.... Pure Class, rightly voted premiership goal of the year.

It wasnt the only great goal Yeboah scored.... in the same season, socred a great goal against Wimbledon... a couple of knee-up... while running.... and a precision shot from 25 yards to the top corner!

Not saying they are the best goals of all time at all.... just great goals!

Also how important the goal was helps me in deciding if its one of the best, like that ex spurs cunt who scored in the 91st minute against Arsenal in the cup winners cup final (or was it eufa cup final i cant remember!!) from like 45 yards out, he just volleyed it and it flew into the top corner!! that was a bad ass goal man

Nayim didn't "volley" it. Seeing as the ball was on the floor that'd be quite difficult. He just spooned it towards goal and Seaman did his usual thing.

Which ever it was, it was an exceptional goal that you hardly see ever, let alone in the last minute of a euro cup final

I'd have to agree with the Van Basten goal....wow, what a strike...however being a fanatical Liverpool Supporter this will cloud my judgement...so therefore anything Liverpool...hehehehe

Ermmm Liverpool...lets see.......ah, John Barnes in the 82 World Cup, that solo effort, who remembers that 1?
