Yeh the drug abuse has put a set back on the scene..they were trying to impose ban on rave parties in US...but actually its more commercial now rather then bein Underground like old days...but the scene is different everywhere with different kinds of people..the number of drug users is increasin which is killing the Original scene..where "music is the drug'....

Thats bullshit.... yo can rave from 10 pm to 10 am without anything.....those who think like that are the druggies at the rave..who jus come for drugs not the music.....for the rest music is the drug..
and i dunno if u can compare Cigz and X..but yea...MUsic is also Haram...so...yea

music is haram? Then how come Azan is a song? how come the whole Koran is a poem that is meant to be recited melodously.
Music is not haram... its just that some people have weird interpretations of the Hadiths (the Koran doesn't say anything of such nature).
And E's aren't addictive (unless you have like 2 everyday for 2 weeks straight), unlike ciggies. E's don't make you lose your sanity aswell, unlike alcohol or other drugs.
Xtc is not even considered a drug. It is called a gateway drug alongside Weed, cause these are what some people start with and eventually move onto real drugs that are dangerous.
Therefore calling people who pop "druggies" is ludicrious.
Did you know that this is considered the "Love Generation" cause for the past two years (when E's became mainstream) New Year's Eve have seen a significant drop in violence due to people moving away from alcohol and towards E's.

Good job so far :)
Except this was "Posted: Sun Sep 28, 2003 7:37 am"
Oh well, I was thinking of bringing back this topic though.
I agree with SmartAss on the fact that those who pop some once in a while should not be called "druggies" because they're only doing it every now and then... although about the addiction, I'm not very sure as I haven't done it too much myself.
Anyone else have anything to say about this?

I dont know how long you have been raving but when someone says u CANt rave without a Pill and has to take a pill or two everytime he raves...i consider him a druggie......
"Larger doses of MDMA (Ecstasy) tend to increase the severity of undesirable effects, rather than increase the pleasurable ones, forcing users to be careful. Doctors have found that although it may not be chemically addictive, Ecstacy is psychologically so.
Dr Adam Winstock, from National Addiction in the UK, has a different view. He found that nearly 60 per cent of users in their survey felt they had developed a tolerance to Ecstasy. Tolerance develops when a larger dose is needed to get the same 'high' that smaller doses used to give. He also found that although half of the users found themselves experiencing problems regarding relationships, work and health as result of taking Ecstasy, they still had not stopped using it. This clearly shows behaviour typical of chemically addicted people.
'Terrible Tuesdays' are well known to those who have used Ecstasy over the weekend. While there are still traces of the chemical in the system, it keeps users on a type of 'buzz'. When it wears off completely, users have a depressive hangover, marked by extremely low moods, agitation and insomnia. Being psychologically addictive, Ecstasy causes mental craving for the feelings of euphoria experienced when the drug is taken.
One of Ecstasy's foremost dangers is the fact that most tablets are contaminated with other dangerous substances such as heroin, LSD, ketamine, strychnine or amphetamines. Test results have shown that there are some Ecstasy tablets that do not contain MDMA at all. Speckled Ecstasy tablets are known to contain heroin, which is highly addictive. Recently, 'Thai white', a pure form of heroin, has been added to ecstasy tablets, thus maintaining the white appearance. When a teenager looks at an Ecstasy tablet, it impossible to judge from appearances what really lurks inside of it."
So we all know Heroin is Haram....so even if you take a small percentage its still Haram.....
Music is Haraam
References within the context of the Holy Qur`aan along with the Hadith of the Prophet(P.B.U.H) confirm that music is haraam.
Interpreters of the Qur`aan have defined the term `lahwal hadith` which is mentioned in the Qur`aan as:
1) Singing and listening to songs.
2) Purchasing of male and female singers.
3) Purchase of instruments of fun and amusement.
When Sayyidana Abdullah Ibne Mas`ood , a very close companion of our Prophet(P.B.U.H) was asked about the meaning of the term `lahwal hadith`, he replied
“I swear by Him besides whom there is no other God,that it refers to ghinaa (singing ).”
This statement, he repeated three times. This view is unanimously supported by the four Khalifas, the eminent Sahabaah, Tabi`een, the four Imaams and other reliable Islaamic scholars and authorities.
One hadith from the Bukhari Shareef, the most authentic Book of Hadith, further confirms unlawfulness of music and singing :
`There will be people of my Ummah who will seek to make lawful; fornication, wine-drinking and the use of ma`aazif ( musical instruments ).`
Detailed analysis of the arabic word `ma`aazif ` shows that it refers to musical instruments, the sounds of those musical instruments and singing with the accompaniment of instruments.
Closer analysis of the wordings of the Hadith establishes the prohibition of music. Firstly, the words `seek to make lawful ` shows that music is not permissible, as logically one can only seek to make lawful that which is not allowed. Secondly, if music was not prohibited, then it would not have been brought within the same context as fornication and wine-drinking.

this is why everyone should just smoke weed and chill...you might not wanna dance or anything, but atleast you'll feel good. and another thing, if islam, christianity, or and other religon was for real, then every single person would be that religon. forget about religon and just live your life like you want to, not what some guy wrote down because an "angel" told him to, or because some guy supposedly came back to life after being crucified and talked to "god"...just be eeeeeeasy
