I think it is pretty serious especially if you leave it untreated. Theres dozens and dozens of types of brain tumors. Some spread fast and some dont. Its basically a type of cancer and scientiests say that there is definately a genetic cause, they have acutally isolated some types of mutated and abnormal genes that are similar to the genes(in function or rather malfunction) that lead to other types of body cancers as well.

But yeah...the seriousness depends a lot on what type of a brain tumor the person has. And brain tumors, like other types of cancers and tumors, can also be caused by toxic chemicals that a person was exposed to, either through the food or through the air(pollution).

Brain tumor sorta equals brain cancer, if that helps.
