View Full Version : Sex overrated?

Article I wrote few days back - thought I would share it would you guys.

Sex is simply not sexy anymore. Sex is no longer beautiful like it is supposed to be. It is no longer a gift and it is no longer sexy. Sex is simply a marketing tool used for pop stars to sell records. And it works. It used to be one of those things that pushed boundaries that was really sexual. You went out on stage and it was just sexy and sexual even fully clothed. I think the more these stars shake their ass and take off clothing the less sexy they are. Truly.
Kurt Cobain was sexy and he was clothed and wasn't like suck my dick baby. He got behind his guitar and screamed all of his emotions out and that was sexy. When Kate something from Almost Famous walked she was clothed and she didn't shake her ass or feel herself up but she had an attitude along with a sweetness and an inner beauty that screamed sexy. D'Angelo, Ok yes he was butt naked which wasn't the sexy part but when he sang with that sexy voice and his smile let me just say that was sexy.
But today we have Sticky Agularia who has nothing to her shaking her phantom ass and Britney Idressandactlikeaslutbuticlaimimstillavirgin who does her best to turn on the guys and its totally laughable. Mariah Carey is disgusting and maybe to guys today is sexy but let me tell you boys you are truly missing out on Girls that are truly sexy. You have been blinded by the pop production of sexiness and are totally missing the real stuff.
And what sucks for us girls today is that the guys expect sex because they are being offered it on a silver platter by these pop stars. If these boys would wait and if us girls would wait we could give them the best sex they could ever imagine but they need to hold on and wait till we are ready. They have to wait until we are comfortable with ourselves. Because if we are thinking the whole time does he like this do I look ok naked I mean come on that isn't cool.
Guys should accept the way we look and love it even if it isn't considered beautiful by culture today. I mean sure go on a diet and put on makeup and do your hair. Look nice. But who cares about culture today because it is being lead by Ms. Spears who sucks ass. And her being " sexy" isn't really her being sexy. It's the photographer or the director that is directing her to be sexy. She isn't like Courtney Love or Madonna who are just plain sexy themselves.
Sarah McGlaucalin , Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple and even Jewel are sexy women. But you dont see them dressing like whores. Except when Fiona did that orgy video and that was sexy. But girls please dont think that Britney stuff is sexy.
And today it is all about sex. To get a guys attention you have to do something or say something that deals with sex. Its so sad. I mean it really sucks.
Our parents dont even want us hanging out with guys our age or older or staying out late or even going somewhere that might have guys. Maybe if you all controlled your horomones a little better we would have more advantages. Maybe co ed sleepovers. I know that seems weird but that is because you are thinking of it from the parents perspective of what will we do there make out? No maybe hang out like normal people. Kids cant just hang out anymore. And thats what we are. Kids. So go have fun. Blow something up. Torture the neighbors cat. Egg a house. Be a kid.

Some older artist were "truly sexy" without showing off their body and the article keeps on bashing Britney Spears. It's asking for kids to wait to have sex, especially the girls til they are comfortable wit the way they look naked. Parents get paranoid about guy/girl hangin out cuz of sex. In the end, it says to be a kid and go egg houses instead of getting laid.

Sex is good n all but i don't give a shit about it, its overrated in my opinion too. if i dont have sex for the rest of my life, its not the end of the world. there are plenty of others things in life that are way better in my opinion. but most dont realize it cuz society tends to make a big deal out of sex, thats where the $ is. hell heroine is 1000 times better than sex, but dosent mean il do it...tempting tho.

I don't get some of these people who say it is too long... damn illiterate ass people! I am sure you can tag up this post with a much longer essay, but i think you got your point across none the less.

The thing is when you are growing up (teenage years)... sex is a big issue/"the issue" with guys and girls. It is advertised everywhere and there is somewhat of a pressure to have sex or to try to have sex, and if you grow up in a somewhat conservative family (*cough Indian) it is really hard to get over this unspoken pressure. However as you grow older you don't let these trivial media figures pressure you to doing anything. Honestly, sex is great... but its not because Britney Spears or Mariah Carey are flaunting it. Sex is great cause it simply is... however young guys don't know half the shit they need to know about it so they usually just fail miserably when trying to hook up with a girl, frankly the majority of them lack the maturity the girls their same age are looking for (hence you see older guys dating younger girls). This miserable failure on the guy's part usually effects all guys cause now the girl that was somewhat open to sex is slightly turned off by it... that is until she meets someone who she can really connect with. It seems like you (author of this post) knows what she is looking for and all i have to say is... don't settle. Trust me you are def. more mature for your age than the guys you may have been dealing with. Also one of the most sexiest feature of a girl, is not her physical body parts (that plays a role initially) but rather what keeps a guy hooked is her intelligence and confidence.

People have been experimenting with sex since the inception of Human race. Granted, the media does play a some what of a big role in shoving it everybody's mouth. But regardless, people will still be curious, it's human nature. Just make sure everybody is properly educated about it.

because sex before marriage is a taboo in alot of cultures. and u are educated to have safe sex. alot of ppl take the education, alot of ppl rebel against it.

another thing is, psycologicaly that a young girl who has a bad childhood, or hasnt had enough love will fall pregnant at a early stage because to them once the have the baby they will have that love. unfortunately they dont understand the other commitments that come along with it.

and its right that girls these days develope more then what girls did 10 years back. i mean 9 year old have boobs and look womenly! plus the latest fashion trends. and if young ppl are getting hormones running thru them like crazy, they are going to fall into a sexual relationship at a early age.

haha. make her toes curl & eyes roll back.

BTW, Isha is not what you think aspaan. Look deeper into what's she writing to get her point - it's not really about sex itself - just some of the attitudes surrounding it.

the only people who really believe that sex is overrated are those who haven't had mind blowing sex.

Now saying that sex is over commercialized & it's value/meaning has become diluted as it finds it's way into every aspect of our society is valid. The sad thing is, the reason WHY it's so popular is b/c everyone is in love with the idea of great sex, but so few people are actually having it. There's nothing wrong with wanting sex; it's a natural instinct. But the way it's portrayed these days, it makes it difficult for young girls to get to a point where they're able to have that sort of sex. They far too often sell themselves short of the real experience by shacking up with the first availible boy b/c it's what happens in all the tv shows.

I think the article is more about how childhood is being polluted by an overpresence of sex in media/marketing that is directed at the adolescents. And I agree wholly with this. Rushing into adulthood is a common stigma among kids these days. Don't be afraid to linger in your childhood, enjoy it while it lasts.

haha. make her toes curl & eyes roll back.

Don't be afraid to linger in your childhood, enjoy it while it lasts.

hey babes thanks for making it clear - i think i just need to change the title to make it more clear

and aspaan - i can see wat u were syaing but if u made a bit more attention to the topic u would see wat i wanted to point out - its not about sex but more about the true meaning behind sex and its intimacy ..... the meaning no longer exist.

Be a kid.

HEYYY I LOV BRITNEY!! :firedevi:

Sex is better in small dosages because then it feels better, if you have sex all the time you dont get pleasure from it just becomes an addiction like ciggarettes, expensive, doesnt last long and smells pooo :D

Depending on the context of 'sex', sex to me is overrated at least when it comes to defining a relationship concretely. I hear idiots complaining that 'sex' is the ultimate bliss or end to a relationship, because there is so much pressure to it. Sex is ultimately a mechanism for instant gratification, or biological procreation, nothing more, nothing less. 'Love making' is total garbage. Any woman who says that needs to be kicked in the face.

Too long, no paragraphs. But I read it, and yeah you're right, sex is supposed to be mysterious and magical, Britney Spears and Cristina Aguilera are just about sexy as a blow-up doll. We can so tell they are fake. Has anyone seen Britney's photo's without make-up?

These skanks just toss sex at us forcing us to like 'em and it's not cool. Some pop starts however are REALLY sexy, e.g.: Shakira.

The only part I disagree with is about the girls having to give sex to their man because they are being offered sex on a silver platter. Do we get to bang those stars? No. Guys want it from girls since before the pre-historics, never mind pop culture. And I don't think it should be reffered to as girls "giving" sex unless it's oral.

luv the STanley cup and MTL Canadien's jersey in your sig...but as to what u said.. agree with everything but the last part. Pop culture has influenced how we see sex in a whole different light. Because of the sex that is now so clearly evident on tv, movies, music videos...basically everywhere you look...it has made signicant changes as to how relationships are handled in today's day and age. A lot of guys measure their masculinity with how many times they've gotten laid. YOu ever chilled wiht a bunch of buddies and not talked abotu who u want to tap...etc. Women are either seen as sexy or fugly. We've labelled girls as "easy" and wanting "one night stands" and "relationship with no strings attached". I've helped peopel through relationship problmes and there's a lot of the times where it's been the topic of sex that has been a stumbling block. THat's eitehr made one couple fight or disagree...etc. And with guy's it's almost the same thing. IF you don't knwo waht you're doing there...or if u ain't measuring up right....there's something wrong wtih you...or we label these people as "gay". Pop culture has made the word "gay" ...it's made the definition that we define it to be today.

not all guys think of only sex.....you forget cars and videogames....ppl think its funny...but in reality lot of guys would pass up sex for cars and videogames....and you cant actually come to any kind of conclution on sex...just personal opinion...cuz sex is different to different ppl....to some ppl its special...to sum its just fun...and others...they have nuttin better to do...and pop stars use sex...because it works...its worked for centuries...you think guys are more hornier now than they were 300 yrs ago...NO...we are still the same....and most of these guys you speak of have never had sex....once youve done it....your whole take on sex changes....whats special...is not sex...its what happens before and after sex....if all you care about is just the sex part....you would be well off just masterabating...cuz trust me...it feels the same...no need take all that effort finding someone to just have sex with...

hmm... i agree. sex seems like a passtime more often than something special, in HS at least.

tee hee. i like the end. "And thats what we are. Kids. So go have fun. Blow something up. Torture the neighbors cat. Egg a house. Be a kid." <- the story of my life. :wiggle:

I disagree... there is nothing mysterious nor magical about taking a penis and planting it in a vagina.

hey look Sex is still cool if you do it with the right person.
There are some guys who just look at you and the first thing that comes to there mind is like " I think she'd be a great phuc!

So I say avoid 'em. Just look for guys who wanna be with you for you and wait until you're ready. HS is tough. I'm glad I'm out now but there is a lot of pressure on girls. I mean just look at the media they put pics like this
