Actually it depends on whether it is federal student aid or private student loan. The federal is not credit based while the private lender will certainly look at your credit score.

no it WONT affect your student loan if your in the UK... the government does not base it on credit scores LOL.... they know they wil catch you if you dont pay later lol...

a good tip... if you live in london with your parents, dont say you are, say your renting and youll get the MAX! i think its abt £6.5k rather than £4k
