Man, I'm sick of all the hatin' and fightin' in this world. Its both mind-boggling and shameful that mankind hasn't learnt from the past --- (will we ever learn, i dunno' but I certainly hope so :) )

I mean, its like the 21st century and people are still fightin' and spilling blood over the same old things. Pretty stupid really & quite upsetting.

I wish we could all just get along with one another. Afterall, we're all human beings at the end of the day, and we do live on the SAME planet :)

Of course, I ain't sayin' its easy -- forgiving others is sometimes a challenge we all face. Its hard to forgive and forget but its the only way the world can move forward.

I also think friendship should be 'blind' to religion, cast, creed and colour.
Because at the end of the day, everyone's just a human being and we're ONE entity
--- HUMANITY!

I have friends from all over the globe, from almost EVERY religious faith, EVERY creed, EVERY caste, EVERY colour and almost EVERY nation.

I look at the person within and forget everything else. Always have.

The truth is humanity don't have a future unless we all somehow AT LEAST TRY to live together AS ONE.

We should all learn to get along in this world ... PEACE, LOVE & UNITY is the ONLY solution ...

haha wish it was that easy. but there are two many different peoples with two many different opinions for us to all get along. u may be thinking lets all get along, but somewhere in the souther part of the usa, u have whites raising their kids with the belief that they are better then blacks and what not. its hard to admit it but most people have a believe that their people/race/culture is the supreme or best 1.

Yep, that's one of the problems -- a person's upbringing from early childhood influences their belief system. But consider this: a person's beliefs are based on their thoughts and experiences --- basically what they have in their mind.

Given the right methods (excluding hypnosis) --- it IS possible to change a person's beliefs and thoughts and as a result change their mind. The power of persuasion is a key element.

There's the mass-media for a start --- if it were used for spreading the right messages and helping the world, i'm sure it would make a difference :)

TV, Radio, Music, Newspapers etc. (and with the internet, communication has become a lot more easier these days :) ).

Music for sure is definitely a universal language --- it breaks barriers and racial divides --- and many artists/bands have spread good, meaningful messages to the public through this medium (e.g. John Lennon, U2, Black-Eyed Peas, Asian Dub Foundation, Rage Against The Machine etc. etc. ).

And one other thing: If vicious dictator's like Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini etc. were able to persuade so many people to hate and to spread evil, i'm sure it could work the other way round too. i.e. MASS-PERSUASION FOR WORLD PEACE & THE GOOD OF MANKIND :)

All it takes is one person to start it all and the following can grow enormously.

People like to 'copy' the majority; they like to copy their friends and neighbours etc. And the beliefs of the majority start with the transfer of beliefs from one person to another. It starts small, one person at a time.

Of course no-one ever said WORLD PEACE was gonna' be easy; nothing ever is! It WILL be a struggle for sure, but you've gotta' remember

N-O-T-H-I-N-G is IMPOSSIBLE!

And one more thing: NEVER underestimate the power of the people!

We all have our own individual strengths. We are ALL capable of A LOT more than we are led to believe.

So AGAIN --- ONE individual CAN make a difference! And together -- we CAN ALL make a -- BIG -- difference!

The truth is -- there is ALWAYS a solution to EVERY problem, it may not always seem that obvious sometimes but it is there, lying somewhere beneath our feet. All we have to do is lift the cotton wool from our eyes and realise that ANY and EVERY goal IS ATTAINABLE!

ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is possible BUT only if you BELIEVE it! Never Give Up!

I just want people to realise that there IS hope and NOT to give up.

I'm just trying to help spread positive messages, in the hope of inspiring others & and to make a l'il difference ... possibly even make people see things differently and make a positive change ...

I know we haven't reached world peace yet but that doesn't mean people should just give up does it? IT WILL take time.

first off, great discussion topic, but we have to look at from a prespective of human nature. educated and smart of not, man/woman is was and will be an animal, religion set aside. what makes us different from all others is a larger brain capacity and ofcourse the opposible thumbs. since the begining all conflict has started cuz some one wanted to be in power because they believe that the other person is not quite doing it right. hence the whole idea of a utopian society will never work because due to our animalistic nature we want to rule. take for example a very simple little detail that makes up our life by answering these 3 questions
Why do you go to school?
Why do you want better grades?
Why do you want to get more money

my answers to this question, i got to school so some day i can be successful want better grades to help me start at a higher level to achieve my level of sccess and finally why do i want more money; because money = power hence all the criminals walking on the street. basically the answere to this question lies in our own nature, no matter how filanthropic we are. we need to give up the hunger for power in order to stop this sort of behavior

goin back to ilikecheese said in his second paragraph, i in no way preech anything to anyone but the reason he refused to sell it is cuz he knew that its the life line of the planet so if he can control it, he has infinite power. how can a war be fought in fuel consuming machines if your enemy has the fule you need to use. although i dont know anyone on this board since i'm new i have to give morpheus props for expresing his thoughts on the issue. its a very sensitive topic and will definitely take more than a few organizations to achieve the final goal but the way the world politics is moving it WILL be too late before world peace is achieved.
