Why SOME asian girls can't move out?

When i was 13 i said to my mum and dad that i wanted to get my own flat and she went like u cant because in our culture a girl is meant to be with her family until she gets married :mad: and i also asked her when i was allowed to go out with my mates(like cinema,shopping etc..) and she said the same thing now that im 18 its still the same ok like rarely i get to go out with my mates but i still cant move out and yes my life is boring!! im soo mad now im thinking that im also gonna get a arranged marriage.

well if you live in USA,and your 18 or over you can do w/e you want lol...they cant stop you if you really want to move out,its all about how to react to them telling you that you cant do this or that

Yes I have apparently the world isn’t right for girls to be on there own and its not considered good if a girl moves out but its acceptable when she gets married with her husband .This is from my parents point of view.

Yes i could do that but i don't want to lose my parents respect and love.
I want to leave the house with their permission which right now is quite impossible.

i mean go to college and u can find time to hang out with ur ppl every once and then....its not like ur parents are not gonna let u drive to college

well im studing but i haven't really got time for a social life right now but i guess your both right so later on after i take some time of i might start socialising more.

Dont worry Lots and lots of desi girls are going through the same thing your going through. Even i go through the same thing and im only half desi. The way im dealing with it is just doing good and school and dont do stupid shit. Throw a tantrum once in a while. I mean if you threaten your parents to move, they will give you more freedom, cuz they dont wanna lose their little girl. lol
