Depends on what part of Pakistan and India we're comparing.

All of them are traditional -name me which ones that are not? dude my grandma watches starplus/zee tv dramas as most of the older generation do so dont even go there with the non traditional bullcrap because the one's who judge the best are our elders. The viewers can relate to the culture makeup of the drama's - they include, close knit families, celebrations of religious festivals & even show how situations can relate to those on the outside - i.e how children treat their parents.

If that shit was amercianfied dont you think there would be a lot more exposure? the producers make daft storylines, yes - but they keep within the boundaries because of the viewing desi communities.

Music on the other hand has nothing do with desi drama's - that's a whole different kettle of fish you are talking about.

This is 2008 - generation has changed, indian music is hitting global status compared to 20 + years back - when really, bollywood didnt make much of a name for itself for the western audience.
