Cracking Down on the Abuse

For long enough we've tolerated members breaking the rules by continuously abusing each other. Well that's going to stop now :cool:

We've implemented an infraction points system. Each time you break a rule you will be given an infraction with a certain number of points. A typical infraction will cost you 10 points. A minor one will be 5 points. Something like racism or inappropriate photos will cost you 20+ points. Most infractions will expire after 1 year.

When you reach 50 points you receive a 5 day ban. If you get to 100 points its a 1 month ban... and so on.

Also, if you feel you are being abused, simply use the "report post" button and the admins/mods will directly be notified. We will be watching the reported posts very closely, so feel free to use it (don't spam us though or you'll be the one getting the infractions. also don't whine, thanks).

Now this doesn't mean good natured debates won't be tolerated, but keep the language under control. It also doesn't mean that you can't swear, just that if you swear AT someone, you are likely to get 5 to 10 points.

For long enough we've tolerated members breaking the rules by continuously abusing each other. Well that's going to stop now :cool:

We've implemented an infraction points system. Each time you break a rule you will be given an infraction with a certain number of points. A typical infraction will cost you 10 points. A minor one will be 5 points. Something like racism or inappropriate photos will cost you 20+ points. Most infractions will expire after 1 year.

When you reach 50 points you receive a 5 day ban. If you get to 100 points its a 1 month ban... and so on.

Also, if you feel you are being abused, simply use the "report post" button and the admins/mods will directly be notified. We will be watching the reported posts very closely, so feel free to use it (don't spam us though or you'll be the one getting the infractions. also don't whine, thanks).

Now this doesn't mean good natured debates won't be tolerated, but keep the language under control. It also doesn't mean that you can't swear, just that if you swear AT someone, you are likely to get 5 to 10 points.

on a serious not running a forum is not easy . I run one myself and have to tackle lots of issues regarding abuse. their is no clear cut way to stop it but you can reduce it. banning and pre mod is the best way to go, the warning system can lead to poster taking their chance to abuse and get the warning as it will have mimuim effect.


and the end of the day it also up to poster to stand up and post with resolvability

They try to do the best they can, but there is lot of members. I think it is kind of hard to keep track of everything and everyone. keep reporting them and eventually someone will do something.
