sikhism abolished caste system and was always ahanst it... guru ji started the concept of adding singhs and kaurs as our last name just to make everyone equal and abolish caste system... but we the sikhs were unable to interpret that message of our gurus..

sikhism was started by guru nanak dev ji... guru gobind singh ji started khalsa panth.. guru gobind singh ji started the concept of singhs and kaurs in 1699.. by khalsa panth he gave da sikhs an identity .. panj "kake" .. hope u get it .. sikhism was started by guru nanak dev ji only..

Sikhism is against the caste system..which what calling ur self jatt, ramgharia or khatri does. But Sikhs are humans. The only one's who are exempt (so to speak), are the 10 guru's who attained moksha (Englightenment)...hence rising above the human form.
