i was wondering what peoples views on this are.
i live in a pretty mixed ethnic community. but most of my friends are of the same religion as me.

alot of people say you cant trust muslims and we shouldnt be friends with them. as they see non muslims as enemies. and inside they probably have a dislike for non muslims.

theres also the fact that alot of muslims i know support terrorism ie in London or anywhere. so how can people be friends with people who have these views? im not saying every muslims supports terrorism.
some of my close freinds were on the trains when those bombs went. and they could have been anyones family members.

to add this this thread i have another dilemma im moving into a student house. with 4 people and another person who wants to move in with us is a muslim. alot of the other guys have strong objections to this. as they hate muslims no offence to anyone. but its kinda my choice if i let him stay with us. im not sure if i should as the other students dont agree with it.

p.s dont mean any offence to anyone

You should check to make sure they don't have problems with you drinking (if you do) but besides that, just do whatever you feel comfortable with.

I've never had a problem with one's religion when it comes to friendship or relationship. Heck, growing up in Kuwait...I even had a lotta paki friends. I was cool with them. My boy back in high skool was this muslim guy from Tamil Nadu. Hella cool dude....religion or shit like that never became an issue with us.

All in all, it depends from individual to individual.

Just like I got Hindu and Sikh friends who say, "Never trust a mullah", i'm sure muslims within their communities say the same about hindu's or Sikhs. But these, I feel, are closeted insecure, intolerable ppl. If there's some genuine reason (84 riots, godhra riots) for hatred, that I can understand. But on a serious note when I heard about this I thought it was rather degrading. Women have to be covered completely. No skink is allowed to touch and the only time they can have sex is to make a baby.

He has just proved what his REAL motives were for posting the thread in the first place. Obviously this brother is not a creative and imaginative enough person to start a thread on any other random topic; So he chooses to be an 'ignorant' just like everyone else, thinking he is creating controversy or something of interest when in fact he ends up looking like the twat that he really is!

You are mis-guided son, Muslim parents teach their kids not to associate themselves with the VICES of a non-believer. We are peace loving people ONLY we have our own way of life and that is based on the teachings of Mohammed saaw (which ultimately brings inner peace within a person and between they're maker [Allah swt])

You cant bring hypocrites into an arguement since they exist everywhere, and i bet you are going against the teachings of your parents (I'm assuming they did teach you to respect others) which would make you a hypocrite because of the way you have turned out. No-one is perfect and those that mingle with ANY kind of woman regardless of religion, race etc are compromising their faith, and will answer to that hereafter.

You say whatever you want in your's & everyone's mind since Islam has all the answers. And the religion itself will shut you up each and every time. Read up on the religion before you start slandering it. Theres alot more to anything in life than meets the eye.

my thread was mostly regarding should one be friends with a muslim who have views that support terrorism. the ones ive come across do. im not saying all do. according to a muslim i knew he told me that most do but dont say it to peoples faces.

and i dont think i should associate myself with people like this.

its like if i knew a jew who supported attacks on london to kill innocent people. i wouldnt be friends with that person either. because obvioulsy he's a nutter.

i did have muslim aqaintences but ive always thought to myself. that its wrong to mix with someone who has beliefs such as these plus all the history. which is one of the reasons why there were objection to a muslim room mate.
always avoided becoming friends with muslims. personaly i think its the right choice. because most muslims support terrorism. lets be honest most muslims were jumping up and down when those london bombs went off. anyones family members could have been caught up in those bombs.


im not saying all do. but they wont say it to someones face.

thats why i think we should not associate ourselves with muslims who have these views. secondly if your friends with muslims. how do your know if they dont have these views?
