Guys, How do I go about it ?
I am an American Citizen, born in Long Island and am going to complete my Nursing from Princeton University,NJ this year.
I think continuing studies in an institution like Oxford,Cambridge,Sheffield etc. would be awesome.
Any one throwing light on this procedure will be greatly appreciated.
( P.S. This is an independant inquiry and not in response to the other post on this website regarding emigration from the UK to the USA )
-Thanks,
Preeti

Life in Oxford and Cambridge is extremely different to USA, its quiet, full of students, lack amenities and over all dull!! (I studied at Cambridge uni, very very dull place in my opinion).
If you're thinking of postgraduate study, then you might want to have a look at the UCAS website(ucas.ac.uk) which is the medium of application to British Universities. For Undergraduate studies, the same website will give you a lot of info, but as an international student you'd be looking at paying around £15000+ a year tuition fees and around £10000 a year living expenses. I don't know how it works in USA, but as 'Home students' here in the UK we only pay £3000 a year tuition fee, so £15000+ is extremely expensive.
Also as an American citizen, you wont require visas or any permits I don't think, so it shouldn't be difficult to settle in UK after studies, you'd probably just have to notify the US Embassy here and apply for National insurance number to be able to work here.

I have a sister at University of Oxford, at Balliol College, although not the most vibrant of cities but not exactly dull my good man. The collegiate system fosters a strong sense of community more so than being under a singular umbrella of the university, which perhaps makes it more socially restrictive. Anyway, what college were you at?
