i've read up a little on some stuff (mainly for my own personal interests) regarding youth, the media, identity of themselves plus early brand recognitions, haha, it was too bad that they didn't teach any of that in our own design schools as an elective. it'd be wonderful if they did though because like i said before, the insight offered serve as great tools for designers (and an even bigger plus if the one offering the insight has a creative slant to themselves as well).
