the major change in the landscape view point u dont see as many farms as they were back them that prob due to the fast urban developement in the suburbs, bare farms land being converted into suburb area. hwich has lead to a change in the way southern people think. walmart has reached to all those small towns which have
destroyed all the small busiiness of farm live .. thats all i can think right now !!!

Many aouthers have written of plantation life and “ southern hospitality”is proverbial, so you will not be surprised at my decription of our way of living , English ppl who visited us said it was like the English country life . we kept “open house “ everybody was welcome and our many horses were at disposal of the guest. My father stables held thirty horses . many of them work animals, of course but among them were fin saddle horses . always ready for the use of our friends . often our stable were empetied og their occupants to make rook mfor “company horses” that is those brought by our friends when they came to visit us, near the our house there was 2 story building builit for accomndation nof gentleman stranger , as there where no inns our country. And plantation were miles apart , some provison had t o be made for the entartaiment of travleres, who were never turned away . we often had delightful huse party and hunting parties, bur our chief anjoyment was riding through the wild and beautiful country. We also went on fishing exucursion and oicnics , we thought nothing of driving ten miles to dine at neighbours huse . gentleman visting , brought their valets and dogs for hunting and young ladies came with their own maids . it was delightful openhearted , open handed way of living. But it was brought and abrupt end-

They hang around street corners on pipestem legs
And taste good in salad with winegar and hard boiled eggs
In broken bricks ans chinders they

Hills they prefer to vallys

Little girls use them for various thing
Such as money , they put them on strings
Or hold them under their chins to see if they like butter
Golfers knock their heads off with a putter
