i think the majority of the people who like the movie is because there favorite rapper has a poster of tony montana in their room.

i didnt think it was the greatest movie ever made but i think its harsh to judge an old movie by todays standards

i found it pretty boring.
it did pick up a bit during the chainsaw scene and the ending but other than that, nothing special.

if it wasn't for pacino then that movie would have gotten no where.
it's a cult film when you think about it.

Never seen it fully. Even his brother getting killed with the chainsaw in the bathroom didnt interest me in the movie.

It's good, but certainly not Pacino's best movie. Brian DePalma isn't much of a great filmmaker either.

6-1 people say it's overrated.
and because somebody voted twice it's actually 5-0.

scarface has a good moral to the story

it dosnt matter who rich n powerful you become, there will always be someone out there who willing to take you out.

you lil brats can't relate to somebody coming up from nothing so it isn't all that surprising.

it wasn't his brother who got all sawed up, that was his friend.

and scarface came out right around the time when crack was hitting the streets real heavy, aaannddd that wasn't by accident either...

respect a classic.

Yep. :rah:

naw..i can't relate to someone coming up from nothing to the head of an illegal business enterprise, but that's not the problem I had with the film...Brian DePalma is such a mediocre director

Godfather 2 is the best Mafia/crime flick as well as Goodfellas.

There's a difference between telling a story and telling a story well. If you can't do the latter, there's no point in even doing the first part. It was all glamorized, which took away from the realism. It's a good style-over-substance film, but there are many Pacino films better than this. Like "The Godfather", "The Godfather Part II", "Insomnia", "Carlito's Way", "Dog Day Afternoon", "Serpico", "Scent of a Woman", "The Insider", "Heat", and "Donnie Brasco".
