I dont know when you were in school, but Im 24. I know people who are about 5 yrs older than me who went to C.Mellon - and they said Desis existed, but you had to find em. Its a big engineering school, so Im not surprised.

As for internet dating - yeah, it was not as prominent as it is today. But, back then, those Desi dating conventions still existed. Ever been to one? Hell, even Bhangra Blowout is a good opportunity to meet Desis.

It would be tough to meet a Desi if you dont go to Desi events - but that kinda makes sense, no?

As for your nerdy cousin- more power to him - hopefully his hard work has paid off, and hes living a nice life.

I am sure, if I specifically sat down and decided to come up with a plan to seek out desi girls, I am sure I would be succesful, but in my sphere where I normally met people, there weren't any. Second..i did not go out looking for a relationship, it just developed, and things have worked out fine. There are pros an cons to every relationship, but that's another topic.

As for my cousin, it seems his parents and him are very unhappy with the marriage which was 'arranged'. The girl spends money like its going out of style, and its quite apparent she married him for money (duh). Another cousin got an FOB wife, and he's hooked on hookers. There are other aquaintances who have had serious issues in their marriage about sex etc.

My dillitente psycho knowledge tells me that for whatever reason (shy or whatever) you were not popular with chics in school, so you have taken this other way and decided to call it your choice when it really wasn't. Whatever works for you is fine, but don't put down others like heartbreakers, Ujwalla etc. You don't know them or their situation and its disingenous on your part to relate sexual acts to them. Commitment isn't really a problem for me. And, you're right - as you said, with a "decent" girl of any race, they will obviously expect some type of commitment.

I would rather date outside my race, for the moment, because I don't see many (or any) attractive desi's around the places I go (school, included). This is all IMHO, of course.

hey man sorry to hear that you feel "trapped" in a marriage to a woman who happens to be white. You should file for divorce, unless you have kids that are young they require 2 parents, unless you want them to die early like 2pac, or grow up to be famous crack dealers like Jay-Z.
